4 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera For The Money!

Pros: I had an Olympus water resistant camera I bought eight years ago, which I used all that time, as a Professional Real Estate person, and for personal use. I got really used to it.
Recently I realized that it was time to update. I knew I had to get a wide angle camera, and this one is 25mm, with very little FISHEYE EFFECT, if noticable at all (Look it up). I studied different cameras, and when this puppy went on sale, I jumped on it. I was completely blown away by the HD Video! Frankly, I couldn't believe this little camera could take video of that quality, and with the separately purchased 32MB flashcard (Use ONLY Class 10 for video), I can shoot HD video for hours! The zoom is insane, honestly. The camera is incredibly user friendly, even for someone who is not that technically proficient. The viewer is very large, and quite accurate. There are lots of features, if one is so inclined to use them. What is really cool about this camera is that you don't have to go into the software to change from single shot to video, as there are two buttons, one for each. If you need to pull out the camera on a moment's notice (like if you happen to see Miranda Kerr, Jennifer Anniston, or Lady Gaga walking towards you, lol) to catch that once in a lifetime opportunity to video or take a picture of something special, that makes a huge difference. Believe me, unless you are a professional photog, you simply cannot go wrong with this camera. And no, I do not own any Panasonic stock.

Cons: No view finder. Of course, the sound is, well, ok. If you don't catch the single shot image in the right light without adjusting manual settings, the picture can come out a little grainy. Occasionally, I do notice a slight little bit of fisheye effect, but for the wide angle it delivers, it is worth the tradeoff, IMHO.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Gift for Mom

Pros: Got this on special with a 4gb SD, Medium Case, and 1 Yr warranty bundle.
For 90 bux, was worth the price. Especially with mom's reputation of dropping her digicams on accident, the set seemed full-proof. Newegg, have you met my mom or something?

Cons: none.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat little camera

Pros: bought this for my wife. Very easy to figure out. Didn't even need the manual. fits in a pocket with room to space. picture look very good. take pictures fairly fast. got it on sale with a carrying case and 4gb card.

Cons: the 4gb card is junk, but since it was free no big deal. the pictures can be a little grainy depending on the lighting conditions. the camera does feel a little more fragile then i would like but my wife will be a lot more delicate than i would.

Other Thoughts: definitely a good value.

5 out of 5 eggsLoving It

Pros: Great zoom range. Convenient controls. Optical image stabilizer makes hand-held shots possible even with telephoto and long exposure times. Focus assist light makes autofocus work in dark or dim conditions (my pet peeve with my old camera). The PC USB interface is ordinary mass storage, so anything that can read a USB flash drive can access it. Also can use PictBridge (PTP) protocol for direct printing to compatible devices.

Cons: The primary drain on the battery is the display (which is also the only viewfinder), so to get anywhere near the advertised number of shots per charge ou'd need to be shooting pretty quickly or turning the camera off between shots. Doesn't come with any provision for recharging the battery outside the camera, but higher capacity 3rd party batteries and chargers are available. The combined USB/charging/AV connector is proprietary, so don't lose that cable, especially if you have no other way to recharge the battery. The AV output is NTSC composite video, which can't come close to carrying the full resolution of HD movies or higher-resolution still pictures.

Other Thoughts: As with most point 'n shoot cameras, the amount of manual control you get is fairly limited, but this camera does what it does very well.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Camera Series

Pros: The Panasonic wide angle cameras are extremely good and very cost effective. The wide angle lens is a must. For example, in real estate pictures, it's the difference between a natural view of an entire room, or a picture of a bland corner. These cameras have served my family well over the years and I'm getting this one at a great price. I would recommend these cameras to anyone who wants great pictures. Battery life is also very good; at one point I took ~300 pictures, some with flash, and still had more battery to go.

Cons: Make sure you get a model with image stabilization, as I've had a 10MP model without it and you had to be perfectly still to get a clear image.

Other Thoughts: On a different model, the sensor developed a 'dark spot' and put it out of commission for real picture taking. But that was years after use and time for an upgrade.
