5 out of 5 eggsSome things to know.

Pros: I did not buy this yet. I have been looking for a good digital SLR Pentax camera that uses the old lenses and this is the best so far for the money, unless you are well to do. I have like 6 lenses from my ole Pentax ME film camera from the seventies. It still works well, but digital is the way to go. Read the forums at which stands for Digital Preview of cameras, they are considered the place where consumers hear from professionals about digital cameras. These shake reduction features really do work with slow exposures hand held or otherwise. The dust reduction part is good too, as you will eventually get dust into any camera if you use it outside, tho this one has about the best sealing of the camera body.

Cons: I wanted to share a coupla things that you don't normally hear from at stores. You cannot see the picture in the digital screen when taking the picture. Only expensive 1,000 dollar cameras can do this at this time, other than of course the point and shoot. They may in the future of course. You use the viewfinder and look thru the little window. It works pretty good. Your older lenses won't work for autofocus unless they were desinged for that too.

Other Thoughts: The megapixels seem like too few for the money. THIS IS UNTRUE. You get more noise from more megapixels, and this is a BIG problem above 8 megapixels tho some manufacturers are having a better result lately. Read at forums for more info, search on noise megapixel.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything I thought it would be

Pros: Nice kit lens, batteries last forever with low flash use. Focuses quickly, pictures are AMAZING. Never knew how much better a DSLR could be over a point -n- shoot. Got used to menus quickly.

Cons: It's big, it's heavy, and may not be the most ideal camera for theme parks, etc. But, I knew this before I bought it.

Other Thoughts: I'd buy this again, and recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat DSLR!

Pros: Reasonable price for a full featured DSLR. Terrific selection of lenses that won't cost you an arm and a leg. Easy to use. Good upgrades from the K100(non-Super).

Cons: Less pixels than similar models from Nikon and Cannon.

Other Thoughts: This is a great camera to use and on the fly adjustments are fairly quick and easy to find in the menu structure. The price of the K100(standard) is great compared to comparable cameras from the other major manufacturers. The super is closer in price but you still save $$ because the lenses are significantly cheaper and terrific quality. Overall, a great buy and great camera.
