4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pretty good video quality.

Cons: The shipped driver cd is junk. I had to goto the manufacture website to get working drivers.

Other Thoughts: It doesn't autofocus but that should be expected for this price.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Camera... Has Linux Support

Coming Soon!

Pros: Clear Picture, Easy to focus, Works under Linux, Windows, and Mac.

Cons: Clip could be a little stronger, IR LEDs are pretty weak -- night vision only works for 2-3 feet.

Other Thoughts: Great camera for the price... There are higher quality ones out there, but its better than I expected for the price. The Kinamax website has Windows / Mac drivers for download, and it is supported by V4L on linux. The v4l driver module you will need is either the spca5xx or the newer gspca module. I've attached a sample video so you can get an idea of the quality before buying.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works on linux

Pros: It works on Linux. I'm running Edubuntu 7.04 and the camera was detected by caminfo. It came up under /dev/video1. I installed motion (for motion capture) and it's working like a charm. No visible light coming from the led's.

Cons: The infrared doesn't seem to come on until it's very dark. I covered the light sensor (on top of the camera) to get the led's to come on.

Other Thoughts: This is the output of caminfo on Linux:
Device node : /dev/video1
Name of device : "Generic Zc0305b"
Minimum size : 176x144
Current size : 0x0
Maximum size : 640x480
Video inputs : 1
Input 0
Name : "ZC301-2"
Type : Camera
Audio : no
Tuners : 0
Audio inputs : 0

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: not bad for the price, i mean you get what you pay for that's for sure

Cons: it says it runs at 30 FPS, well IT runs at that fast, how ever when it gets to your computer 2/3 of the frames are dropped, not sure if that's for all webcams, but it sure doesn't run on your screen, or record at 30 FPS

Other Thoughts: the infrared lights on mine go about 6 inches, and aren't very bright, i'm not sure if that's a lack of power or what. and it seems to like to turn black into a light gray/white color, just be warned.

5 out of 5 eggsCOOL, A webcam with Headlights!

Pros: DIRT CHEAP, But really good! Came with the drivers on one of those Poker Chip size CD'S Does what it says it'll do.

Cons: All them clip-on Webcams could use a better type of clip, but this one works better than some. Still give it 5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: This may become my standard laptop cam. NewEgg, the stuff that you send me has made my hobby a LOT of fun!!

4 out of 5 eggsInfrared Lights

Pros: The infrared LEDs makes the camera perfect for low/no light situations.
Low Price.

Cons: The Mic isn't as powerful as I'd like (you can pump up the quality via options but still not very good)

Other Thoughts: Took me a sec to realize that you can't SEE infrared lighting but works nonetheless for the camera.
The light is great compared to my onboard laptop webcam with no light (don't need to have a great amount of lighting to get a good picture).

Works fine for the things I needed a webcam for, yes that includes skype.
Install was annoying but not the worst I've gone thru.

3 out of 5 eggsNeat camera

Pros: Built in illumination, inexpensive, handy clip style base.

Cons: Not the greatest camera, butadwquate.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a webcam that had built in infrared illumination for night vision, and I thought this would be perfect. I should have researched better - this is not the camera for that. The 6 built in LEDs are bright white, definately not IR. However, it is a decent camera. The camera contsruction is metal, (the base is sturdy plastic) and it has a built in light sensor so the LED's only come on when you need them. They only provide enough light to work for a few feet, but it is great for a laptop where your face is close to the screen anyway.

1 out of 5 eggsdon't waste your time or money

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: Extremely poor quality.

Other Thoughts: I purchased kinamax wcm-6lnv to replace my 6-7 year old printer port QuickCam. Unfortunately, my webcam works a million times better.
