3 out of 5 eggsCamera

Pros: Took pictures. Cheap.

Cons: It was a problematic product. The batteries could not be left inside the camera. The batteries were getting drained in within two week. So I always kept one battery out. Too bad the camera could not charge batteries while connected to usb. Lasted about two years.

4 out of 5 eggsGet This One

Pros: Very Good Camera , It takes AA Batteries & SD Camera Card .

Cons: I dropped one egg for No Wrist Strap & No Camera Bag .
for a 0.25 cent Wrist Strap I would have given it another egg .

Other Thoughts: Every where I have been in Europe & Asia from Yekaterinburg to the Black Sea , You always can find AA Batteries & SD Camera cards are the most common .

3 out of 5 eggsFollow up review - unforeseen problems

Pros: 1) 14.1 MP and 5X Zoom makes for good quality pictures.

2) Comes with 2 AA batteries for use.

Cons: 1) Every time that you turn on the camera or view the pictures or view the menu items, you must reset and set the settings for the camera adjustment all over again. This grows very tedious and very annoying.

2) Does not come with a strap.

3) Does not come with free memory card - even a 256mb one would be very cheap and very useful for first-time buyers.

Other Thoughts: As stated before, the most annoying part is the fact that you have to continuously re-set the settings for taking picture the way YOU want them because it keeps setting itself back to Default settings after viewing the pictures on the card, the menu of the camera, etc. I checked the menu options and could not find a way to change the default settings or stop it from reverting to the default settings.

Recommendation: when using this camera, make the settings you wish for the desired use, then take as many photos as you need FIRST, before viewing them - otherwise, you will quickly get annoyed.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Perfect condition, didn't seem refurbished
Turns on extremely fast, and is ready to shoot (about 1 second total)
Small body
Large screen
Good zoom, great quality pictures.
Takes fullsize SD cards, not micro. (harder to drop or lose when fumbling around outside)

Cons: When it's refocusing (which it does automatically), it makes attention seeking chirpy noises which sound like "Look at me, I have an awesome camera"

5 out of 5 eggsGood Price, Good Quality, Easy-to-use!

Pros: I normally don't buy refurbished items due to bad experience, but because it had legitimate reviews, I decided to buy it as a gift for my mom. We've had it for about 2 weeks now, and even though we haven't used it much, it's been quite handy and has great quality pictures!

I originally bought a 8GB SDHC Card for it, but decided to use it as backup and gave my mom my 16GB SDHC Card for the primary card - and it predicts that it can take 2.2k pictures with that amount of memory (not bad!).

Cons: Well, I suppose for an easy-to-use camera, it does have a LOT of "extra features," that will definitely take a LOT of time to figure out how to use, but as a plus side, it'll influence her to use it more often.

Can't think of any other cons for the moment.

Other Thoughts: It was only 50bucks for the camera when I got it, and I saved some money by using my old camera's strap for it (it's like 8bucks for a strap, insane), then added a 1-year warranty - total came out to 86bucks.

1 out of 5 eggsDidnt work

Pros: None

Cons: Didnt work out of the package. Could not see any memory cards or reported a card error. controls would not work.

Other Thoughts: This is a refurbished camara and it is clear that it was not tested before it was repackaged. This was a Christmas gift.

5 out of 5 eggsOi

Pros: Will know after Christmas.

Cons: 10days after I purchased this product, its price lowered by $10, 'tis the season when money is real tight.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this as a gift to my wife for Christmas, it currently sits wrapped under our tree.

5 out of 5 eggsA Good Point and Shoot

Pros: Works good as a point and shoot.

Cons: The auto features work fine, but it's not fool proof.

Other Thoughts: I bought good memory for the camera, and got good pictures. I'm planning on trying some Class 10 (good price at the moment) and see if I can get some great pictures.

It is a bit tricky for a novice to use right out of the box. I highly recommend playing with it a bunch before taking a critical shot.

It's my wife's camera and she's the type of person who wants technology to be simple and perfect. The camera isn't either, but I have to compliment her on sticking to it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat spare camera or inexpensive gift...

Pros: Excellent camera if you're looking for a Nothing Fancy, spare camera to keep in the glove box for the just in case, or as an inexpensive gift for a family member. You just can't come close to this for the price given the 14MP, 5x optical zoom for $40. Appears ruggedly built, as far as pocket cameras go. Takes good pictures. Pretty much on par with much more expensive pocket cameras. Not at all what I expected from a cheap GE camera. As for being Recertified ... I've bought many recertified items in the past from Newegg, & others and never been disappointed.

Cons: I dropped in 1 egg because it didn't come with a wrist strap. That is pretty darn annoying. I had to go out and buy one for $5. That's the one thing that should be basic and included, no matter what the price of the camera.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind the true price when buying any pocket camera. I paid $40 for the camera (Newegg subscriber special), $3 for shipping, $6 for a cheap case, $12 for an 8GB storage card, and $5 for a strap (this camera only). That turns a $40 camera into $66. Still a pretty cheap camera for what you get. But it's 65% more than the starting price!
