4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Price.
Features and options are great for me, (I'm an amateur) Reading the manual helped a lot, took me about 20 minutes to figure out all the basic operations and features that I would need/use.
I have large hands and this camera is ideal,(in comparison to many of todays digital cameras) the buttons are all located conveniently.
Digital and optical zoom are a little tricky but great when you get the hang of them and the other features.
Batteries included.
Lens cover included
Strap included.
This came packaged like it was brand new.

Cons: No manual.
This camera eats batteries!

Other Thoughts: I have seen reviews about this camera's picture quality, and well I may be an amateur but my eye sight is excellent. For your average user at this price the camera rocks.(once configured) as far as the weight goes it only affects my pictures if I'm trying to shoot while viewing from the screen.(w/out stand/ which u can get for $5.00-20.00)
Otherwise I get 0 distortion in my pictures and they look great , in some cases to much detail.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality

Pros: Not much good to say here. It's cheap cost is not even worth the quality of picture it takes.

Cons: My iphone 4S takes better photos than this camera

Other Thoughts: It looks like a DSLR,which is why I bought it. It is not. It is just a regular digital camera which a high megapixels (which really just looks like a low quality image blown up to fill a large amount of megapixels-- very blurry and non-detailed photos)

4 out of 5 eggsI like it!!

Pros: The camera has pretty cool settings. Actually a lot more than I'm use to. My wife and I have been using our phones for years now. My wife has little hands and she says it just feels perfect.

Cons: The first one I got was DOA. Of course Newegg fixed that for me. I didn't have it in time for my wife's b-day but she was still happy getting it the next day.

4 out of 5 eggsCan't be beat for the money!

Pros: I own several pro DSLR's, but the GE X500 is my go-to, grab it quick camera. It takes wonderful shots, and has features normally only found on cameras costing 3 times as much. It also uses AA batteries, which are available anywhere in the word, unlike proprietary battery packs.

I am constantly amazed at how well this camera functions, and at the quality of the photos it takes. Many of the photos from it are equal to those of my expensive Pro DSLR's! It's also dead simple to operate, has "anti-shake", and takes basic video. Perhaps best of all, if you ever lose or damage this camera, you won't be mourning the loss of thousands of dollars (as if you lost an expensive DSLR).

Cons: The camera is not the fastest. Be sure to use a "10" speed SD card in it, and this will help. Video records in ".MOV" files, which is OK for a quick snip, but it's not HD. The lens cap never stays on (same as with many other cameras too!). Focus times are somewhat slow. Not a super "fast-action" camera, but great for everything else.

Other Thoughts: Frankly, I love this camera. I can take it hiking, on horseback, or to the beach, without worry. It's small, easy to use, and is capable of taking phenomenal photos. It also takes wonderful macro shots, and works well indoors with, and without, the flash.

It's also one of the easiest digital cameras I have ever used, with quick, simple, understandable menus. Of the 5 cameras I own, including some very expensive Pro DSLR's, I find I use this camera for about 75% of my shots, with completely acceptable results. If I ever lose or wear this one out, I will buy another.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Can't loose, for the price and the amount of features you get. Takes very good macro pics. General picture quality is very good. Alkaline battery life is surprisingly good. I took > 100 pics with flash and the batt is still going.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Best buy.

4 out of 5 eggsChuck in Goodlettsville

Pros: Great! Extremely good camera for the money...even though it is reconditioned (which is why I bought the extra warranty!)

Cons: Must be VERY steady to take snapsots , which is why I also bought a tripod from Newegg!

3 out of 5 eggsGood for the sale price

Pros: Good valve for 100 dollar refurbished model, not at the MSRP of 200.
Excellent 15x optical zoom.
Very fast shooting/flash/recovery with the 4xAA battery setup (6 volts).
Less noticeable fisheye effect on close up images than other point and shoot cameras.

Cons: Poor image quality, extremely grainy in low light even with flash.

The other similar priced cameras I currently own are a Panasonic DMC-LZ5K and Nikon Coolpix L5. The Power Pro X500 takes clearer and sharper pictures, and has a better flash, however there's a lot of distortion and artifacts that's especially noticeable with text caused by the image processor. Personally, I prefer the slightly blurred but smooth processing on my other cameras.

Other Thoughts: For about a 100 dollars, it's not a bad deal if you're really keen on the zoom. If the zoom isn't a concern for you though, there are cameras from Canon and Panasonic with much better image quality in the same price range.

4 out of 5 eggsA bridge to no where

Pros: If I could give half eggs, I'd give ths a 4-1/2. Nice little bridge upgrade from our Nikon point and shoot. Fast recovery after shooting, fast shipping and meets all my expectations. 16MP doesn't hurt either. Am really enjoying this littlel bably.

Cons: No case, and no SD card but I knwe about that so no eggs off for that.
