Pros: Excellent VR (vibration reduction), Massive zoom, durable and shock resistant, durable lens hood, great price, Decent auto zoom speed, great for monopods, Cons: Heavier than most lenses, Limited f-stop range, weight puts extra stress on tripods, massive size means more batter draw for the VR reduction. Other Thoughts: This lens really worked wonders for me as I took my favorite hobby and turned it into a business. Even when shooting with in the bleachers a monopod from 100+ meters away, I can capture the facial expressions of a quarterback during a football game. The VR is very powerful. You can actually feel it turn on when you depress the shutter release button half way down, as if it has a slight recoil. I have been able to capture birds fighting in the air with stunning clarity and speed from long ranges without having to take my ISO up from maybe 1,200 MAXIMUM. It does take a little bit longer to auto focus than I would like and the VR really can draw on your battery if you are letting it run for long exposures. Ultimately, without such a powerful lens, I would never have been able to get my business started. And its at great price. Worth every cent in my opinion. I have used it during military combat action, and it is miraculously durable and resistant to dust, dirt, shock, etc. Great glass! 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? I take pictures of theater productions. The ISO has to be turned up on the camera but it does amazingly well. The lens is very well constructed. Cons: Little heavy, but that is expected. Pros: Quick Accurate AF Lightweight Very Sharp from 70-200mm Works Great in Broad Daylight Cons: Poor in Low Light (If you want a low light performer, You have to spend more $$ and get 2.8 or faster) Soft from 201-300mm but can be tweak using post process. Cons: Not a particularly fast lens, in terms of f-stop. Other Thoughts: I can imagine a better lens, and in fact I think one does exist for about four times the price of this one, but given what this one sells for, I'm extremely pleased with it.
