5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Clear and crisp photos, amazing video quality, great depth of field.

Cons: non yet.

Other Thoughts: This is an amazing lens for the price. You cant beat that. Took some portrait shots with this, the photos were amazing.

4 out of 5 eggsCan't beat the value

Pros: Fast, crisp, and clear photos. Great depth of field at 1.8f.

Cons: Slow to focus in mid to low light.

Other Thoughts: Fantastically crisp photos with pro looking depth of field (bokeh). Fast in low light with aperture of 1.8f, but slow to auto focus. I often miss the shot waiting for it to focus in low light. This has forced me to learn how to quickly manually focus, which isn't such a bad thing.

I take a lot of portraits of 1-2 people and this "nifty fifty" works great, but when taking group shots, 50mm is too much power and I am forced to back away a great deal. If I had to do it over, I would purchase the Nikkor 35mm 1.8f for about the same price.

Overall, at $200+/-, you can't beat the value!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Lens

Pros: For people who are buying this lens and compairing pricing, please make sure you compair the 50MM w/AF-S this lens is an update to 50MM w/no AF-S.
This is a great all around prime lens, and before I read a review saying "It doesnt zoom" Prime/fixed lens DONT!
This is a great lens for portrait or landscape shots, either way well worth the cash.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: Great "starter" lens, not to expensive and helps you understand the basics.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Lens

Pros: Great Bokeh
Awesome Portrait Lens
Works Great w/ DX Camera
Works as all round Lens
Very Good at Low Light

Cons: Nothing so far...

Other Thoughts: The average price of this lens is $219.99, I would've bought it from newegg but it's a little bit overpriced for $259?. I love shopping here at newegg but sometimes I just don't understand their pricing. Anyway I just wanted to share my experience about the lens. Great Lens, No Regrets

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Lense, but overpriced.

Pros: This is supposed to be one of the best auto-focus 50mm's.

Cons: This is virtually cheaper EVERYWHERE else (by an average of 40-50$) This is very unlike NewEgg.

Other Thoughts: I love NewEgg (and my order history proves it) but they are priced way out of market for anyone that even googles this lense. I'd buy it here in an instant if they brought it down to at least 220 (the average) shipped. I haven't bought it yet, but will probably in the next couple weeks.
