Pros: Fast prime lens, general focal length good for lots of shooting scenarios. Superb image quality.

Cons: Really can't go wrong having this lens especially on full frame camera.

Other Thoughts: For beginners remember this is a prime lens so there is no zoom available. Have to move your feet to frame your shots. The upside to prime lens is that the image quality can't be beat.
