Pros: Nice wide angle lens for the price, and with rebate the deal is even better. Seems to focus quickly, and is reasonably sharp from f8 up. Great for HDR shots,and Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom 4 already have a profile for this lens to adjust for the barrel distortion.

Cons: Could be Sharper at lower f-stops. Lens cap doesn't like some polarizing filters(doesn't stay on), but no biggie. Chromatic aberration can be strong but the new lens correction tools in either Lightroom 4 or Adobe Camera Raw can eliminate that problem crazy easy. You have to have to do a little post work with this lens to make the pictures perfect.

Other Thoughts: If you are a photographer you should have either Photoshop or Lightroom which is a must with this lens. It is a good lens and the better the exposure the less you'll have to tweak, but I have yet to get a shot that I could leave untouched. Hence the 4 out of 5 eggs. A good lens for the price, but not Quite as good as the Canon 10-22 f/3.5-4.5 USM. And if you have a full frame Sensor it isn't even in the ballpark with the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM.

Pros: Inexpensive lens (compared to Canon) that can give you a view of the world that you won't get with ANY of the kit lenses. This is a wide angle lens without the "fisheye" view (might want to confirm that with the fishes). When using this lens with a dSLR that takes video the perspective is truly a "look" you will not see in many videos.

Cons: It's not a Canon lens and therefore doesn't have the software that Canon provides with it's lenses that corrects for any barrel or pincushion distortion. Nor will the Canon software correct any chromatic abberation for this lens as it does for most of Canon's lenses. There are 3rd party software companies that will do these corrections but they are not included in the cost of the lens.

-comes with a lens hood.
-cheaper than canon's

Cons: no for pixel peepers

Other Thoughts: The lens is for landscape photography so you would rarely use it wide open.

Pros: -Sturdy build
-Good image quality
-Lens hood included
-Easy to use-not a huge learning curve
-Great for Landscapes+Architecture

Cons: -Some chromatic abberation in bright sunlight (can be fixed w/ photo editing software)
-A little slow in low light
-Not as sharp as the Canon 10-24 (but hey it's not near as expensive)

Other Thoughts: Great lens for first time (beginner) landscape+architecture photography.

Pros: Very low distortion. Good color. Comes with a lens hood. Nice telephoto range. Very bright in the view finder. Feels very sturdy. Zoom and focus controls very smooth. Half foot focus range (makes for some interesting effects).

Cons: Can be a bit soft at the 10mm range. f6.3 or smaller produces sharper images. A bit of chromatic distortion at 10mm, clears up about 14mm. Very simple to correct with software. Slow AF motor, but the search is very quick (does not over correct like some canon lenses do).

Other Thoughts: My first Tamron lens as well as my first ultra wide angle lens. This lens has a bit of a learning curve to it but can still produce very nice images. Hands down, better than the kit lens. One odd thing, the focus and zoom ring is backwards in comparison to canon lenses (counter clockwise versus clockwise).

Pros: good contrast, image quality

Cons: slow AF

Other Thoughts: I've had a sigma 10-20mm recently and while that lens focused faster, sometimes the corners were a bit soft. on the tamron, the image quality is noticibly better, although the AF is slower, I guess thats not too important in a ultra wide angle.
