Pros: Very fast and accurate AF. Tack sharp. Excellent contrast and colors. Smaller/lighter than the great whites and much more discreet. Very smooth background blur at wide apertures.

Cons: None - especially at this price.

Other Thoughts: This lens is amazing for the price. It is sharp in the center and across much of the frame wide open, but one stop down it becomes tack sharp. AF is excellent in both one-shot and servo tracking modes. Takes the 1.4X extender extremely well - negligible hit in IQ and AF performance. Looking forward to trying this with an extension tube for close-ups...

Pros: I've had this lens for more than 2 years, using it on my 20D (1.6 crop), and never have I regretted the purchase. I like the f/2.8 speed along with the very resaonable size. It's about 60% of the weight and cost of the 70-200 f/2.8 but I don't miss those lower focal lengths. Images are sharp and contrasty. If you have room to step back a ways you can take great portaits.

Cons: The only step closer to perfection that I can think of would be image stabalisation, which would have come in handy at times.
