4 out of 5 eggsNice battery life, lite weight

Pros: Good battery life, plays nice with camcorder.. do nat have to specifically allow the camcorder to use it like other non canon batteries, bought it along with the charger..now all batteries can be charged with the same charger.. and the charger is compact too, so can carry everything in a small bag.

Cons: EXPENSIVE !, would have given a 5 if it was a little cheaper.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: This battery works as expected - lasts about as long as my 16GB card; Retains the capability of showing battery life on the LCD screen of the camcorder

Cons: A bit more expensive than I'd like, but that's the way batteries go..

Other Thoughts: Using with the Canon HF100

4 out of 5 eggsBig Battery

Pros: Battery life is over 2 hours.

Cons: Somewhat bulky compared to the regular size battery. Sticks out of the camera and does make a little harder to plug the DC power into the camera.

Other Thoughts: Worth the purchase to limit the number of charge/discharge cycles on the battery with the camera and this one, plus the extra run time is always appreciated.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Battery

Pros: I am using this battery with a Canon HF100 HD camcorder. When fully charged, the camcorder shows that the battery has a life of about 3 hours. I have not used it that long without recharging it, so I cannot say whether it will really last that long or not.

Cons: Wish it was a little cheaper.

5 out of 5 eggsLong life

Pros: This battery runs much longer than the standard battery which came with the Canon HF100. Get this. You need a spare battery anyway.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Canon should have included this battery in the camera, instead of the standard battery that comes with the camera now. Consider buying the CG-800 charger. It charges very fast.

4 out of 5 eggsA must have if you hate waiting

Pros: What can you really say? It's a bigger battery, it last longer.

Cons: Does not really fit in the form factor of my camera (HF100) and the color doesn't match

Other Thoughts: Although, I dont really like how the battery doesn't match my HF100, the size actually does have its advantages. The battery sticks out of the camera a bit more than the standard, which is flush. But I like this because with my big hands it helps with holding the camera steady.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is a "Must-Buy"

Pros: The energy in this battery is similar to that in 8 AA cells, and it only weighs as much as 3 AA cells.

Cons: The BP-827 has just been announced in Japan, even larger still (for those of us that want to record hour upon hour of conference sessions).

Other Thoughts: I made an 8xAA emergency plug-in power supply for my HF100. That was a silly venture - buy several of these batteries. With more than 2 hours of video fitting on one 16 Gig SDHC card these big batteries allow you to do a lot more.
