3 out of 5 eggsshould of read the reviews first.

Pros: On sale
Plenty of ports
Small size allows for install almost anywhere.

Cons: not a 110 block

Other Thoughts: I was looking to setup a home network, I looked into patch panels and came across this one. On sale, with a 110 block, or so it says, so I picked it up eagerly. When I got it in I realized something was up.
I went to the manufacturers website and to my surprise it was not a 110 block. I had bought all the tools, a switch, and the cat5e cable for my network and was ready to go, or so I thought, but now can not start until the new tool comes in.
The 110 punch does not work with this panel so I had to order a new tool. The only reasonably priced one was from newegg but a week out, now I wait.
Excitement outweighs the disappointment, but wish it was described correctly.

1 out of 5 eggsPatch Panel Does not work with standard 110 too.

Pros: Its a basic patch panel. Price.

Cons: Standard Punch down tool does not work properly. Contacts are not straight and a lip on the plastic prevents tool from working correctly. I just picked up a different panel instead of wasting time with this one.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello xxnumbxx,

We are sorry to hear that you had an issue with the TC-P24C5E. This patch panel does not have 110 blocks, it has Krone blocks. You will need a punch down tool with a krone blade for this patch panel. For example, the TC-PDT. It comes with both Krone blade and 110 blades. We see that Newegg has incorrect information regarding this model and will have it adjusted accordingly.

Regards,

Adrian

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine, acceptable quality

Pros: sturdy construction, gets the job done.

Cons: It's a bit basic but that isn't a fault.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a punch-down tool, don't bother trying to do without.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, affordable patch panel

Pros: Easy to use, good durable design. The cables are very easy to secure/manage and I'm not worried in the slightest unlike some other brands I've used. The PCBs and ports decent too. No CRCs or other errors on my switch ports after 1week running 24/7.

Cons: Not 45d angle, but that's my fault for not getting that one.

Other Thoughts: I'm using this in a small 12u home rack where space is a premium and cabling was a right mess. This lets me add ports in the back for the servers, and cleaned up the rat's nest at the same time. It does what a patch panel should do, and is cheap and reliable. Good deal. If I had more space, I'd buy another...

5 out of 5 eggsUltra Cheap

Pros: This patch panel works great for my gigabit Ethernet home implementation. The construction quality is high IMHO and the price is incredible compared to other offerings.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The cat6 version of this patch panel price is still insane but for my current gigbit Ethernet needs it work just fine. I will have to upgrade it once I migrate to 10 gigabit in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent server rack piece

Pros: I've been installing these in various businesses for well over a year. Easy to read, install and punch down. The price is just right too. No complaints!

Cons: Nada!

Other Thoughts: I wish Newegg had a $4 overnight like a certain online jungle-themed store. :< But I'm loyal to Newegg, so unless I'm in a pinch I'll buy it here every time!

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad for under $50

Pros: Cant beat it for under 50 dollars, worked for my home network perfectly. nice wiring diagrams.

Cons: not sure how it will handle wires being pulled out and repunched but was rock solid on the first go around

Other Thoughts: All of trendnets products have continued to impress me. They are much cheaper than any other brand and so far i have not had any problems with any of their stuff from patch panels to kvms to switches to wired and wireless nic's.
