AMAZING GAME
- Pros: Balance. This game has amazing balance. The civs are all balanced and they all balance each other. No one civ is better than the others and there is always some weak point to be exploited. I have played this game from day 1 (ten years ago)! I love this game. My buddies and I played in the dorms in college and I still have the recorded games and replay them sometimes when i'm bored. (nerdy I know). The Conquerors expansion solved any problems with the original and made vast improvements too. Play this game!!
- Cons: Microsoft pulled the online gaming site, "the zone" but several years ago I was able to find another site that let you organize games over the internet, not sure if it still is working though, "Gamepark". But you can play with friends directly if you know their IP addresses also you can play LAN. Sometimes you have to open the port on your router, Microsoft has instructions for this on their website, easy to find.
- Other Thoughts: This game has been a huge part of my life, I even got my girlfriend hooked on it. :-) Very balanced and isn't too addicting. A good game takes an hour or so and most people can only sit for 1 or 2 games so your rear tells you when it's time to stop. Walmart has it too I think for cheap. Love this game, buy it, it is very worth it.
