- Pros: Easy start up interface
- Cons: When there is a shortcut for something it's very easy but when you want something that it doesn't give you, searching for it is a nightmare. Half of my banks couldn't upload information forcing me to do it manually anyway. You can't goal seek or figure out simple interest on CD's which is lame. I use MS excel to track my finances and I thought this would be an upgrade but I was wrong.
- Pros: I had used Intuit's Quickbooks program for doing business accounting, so had a previous knowledge base to go off of. It's relatively easy to import/download data from my banks' websites. Now that I'm getting all the accounts and payees set-up, Quicken is relatively easy to use.
- Cons: I'm told that you cannot import PC data very easily; I didn't even bother trying since I didn't want to waste time. Instead, I went to my banks' websites and downloaded my account data directly. I had some difficulty setting up my accounts from my banks' websites, but am not sure if that was more operator error than issues with the software. The definite disadvantage to this method is that you have to set-up all accounts/payees from scratch.
- Other Thoughts: I purchased this product as an alternative to Microsoft Money, since I had been previously using PC and switched to a Mac. I printed a hardcopy of my Money files before switching over so that I could have it as reference.
- Pros: It's Quicken....
- Cons: I switched from a PC to a Mac and I had Quicken 2005 on the PC. That was a pretty decent program, very easy to use and had no problems with compatibilities. Ever since switching to the MAC verison, its been a nightmare... No compatibility... Same info from the banks, but Quicken wants more money from the banks to support the MAC version also... grr.... Not very user friendly either....
- Other Thoughts: There are several freeware programs out there, that are a lot better than this...
