Firefox 2.0 - ish
- Pros: It works. Upgrade from old Quicken (2005) was flawless.
- Cons: Layout a little different. Going to see if i can tweak the interface to suit my needs.
- Other Thoughts: Looks like they are trying to blend it into FF 2.0.
A Needed Upgrade??? Yes & No.
- Pros: I've used this program (in various forms) before Quicken bought the company that was their major competitor in 1988: "MoneyCounts".
I've updated every 2-3 years, and this is the first time I've bought the next years "Upgrade". WHY??
This version is the FIRST TIME that you can download from several financial institutions within the One Step Update, and Quicken won't charge them...bottom line: it makes weekly downloads easier to do and allows greater access!
- Cons: Quicken's philosophy of "upgrade it yearly" is strictly driven by their desire to turn a larger profit, and this one is no exception (except the one mentioned in my "Pros" comments).
Quicken charges financial institutions everytime you download a WebConnect file, so it kind of forces you now to buy this upgrade due to more and more companies not willing to pay Intuit's fees!
Interface is completely changed! Can't they keep some things constant???
Lastly...(not really, but for here, yes)...Don't even try using the budget...it's incredibly restrictive, and not at all user friendly.
- Other Thoughts: If you are self-employed, buy the Home & Business edition. If you have employees, buy Quick Books instead. If you're like most people and need something to organize your finances, buy Quicken Deluxe.
