Pros: I've used Turbo Tax every year for the past 10 years. I don't trust them with with my personal info on their systems so I buy the software. This year I did notice some improvements. The state download was included and not some crazy rebate thing. You load the Turbo Tax, and download your state. No extra charges followed by rebates.
Also, loading Turbo Tax did not spam my desktop with a bunch of %$%#.
Cons: It says it includes efile, but that is somewhat misleading. It includes federal efile ( and that is free with no pay first - rebate later nonsense ), but you have to pay $19.95 for state efiling.

Pros: I used the Mac version - I had been using online programs for the past several years. Used to be that the Mac version of tax software felt awkward and a little buggy (like a fast port from Windows). But, this version was very smooth and even had some nice Mac features like being able to backup to me.com account.
Cons: I still don't get why the state e-file is $20. That seems ridiculous, so I always snail-mail my State taxes and e-file Federal. However, the one bug I got into was that once I had e-filed my Federal, the program basically said I was done and would not give me options for printing and sending my State taxes. I had to manually go back to the "File" options to get to the State printing - and it wasn't really that straight-forward to find! I don't remember that in past versions.
Other Thoughts: Smooth way to do taxes. The program even caught a little transport tax form that I owed because I did some independent work in the city (not sure if that is a pro or a con... :)

Pros: did ok until I got to the end
Cons: would not finish .got to the print and efile part .program would not finish.kept saying turbo tax has encountered a surious error and needs to shut down. over and over .on hold and with support for over an hour .problem not fixed. finaly gave up on support. web site support no help 'finaly got to efile federal only still error trying to efile state.
Other Thoughts: on computer over 4 hours to do something that should have taken not even 1
