1 out of 5 eggsquickbooks pro 2013

Pros: None.

Cons: Very difficult to write estimates, invoices, etc. Hot keys do not work unless the ribbin is open which makes it very cumbersome and labor intesive to use.
I am returning it for credit and the quickbooks customer service has been very helpfull and accomidative in my return.

3 out of 5 eggsGood program

Pros: Quickbooks does what it does very well
Gave 3 eggs ONLY for this reason

Cons: Intuit customer service/activation S U C K S. You HAVE to call to validate the install. They send you to an overseas call center to install the product, even after you enter the product code, try to sell you upgrades while they "register" your product and provide an unlock code to activate. The whole process takes upwards of an hour so plan on being on the phone when you install this. I can't believe so many businesses use this product. If it was not as good as it is for the software I would recommend not using just because of the hassle to activate, but thats just me. (I've installed more than once for others)

Other Thoughts: If Microsoft can automate the OS activation then so can Intuit. They cost about the same $$ and upgrade just as often. Make the effort Intuit!

3 out of 5 eggsQuickbooks Good. Newegg bait and switch

Pros: Quickbooks Pro has worked fine for me over the past several years.

Cons: You have to buy a new version every two years if you want to keep downloading and reconciling your bank data.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's bait and switch tactics really make me mad. I tried to order the downloadable version of this on their 48 hour sale, and was told it will be available soon and they will send me a message when it can be purchased and downloaded. It was $119.95. When I got the message that it was available, I put it into my cart right away, and lo and behold it is $199.95. I called customer service and was told their prices are subject to change. That was a pretty quick change

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: NONE

Cons: Just a repackaged version of their 2011 version except this version is filled with many links to add on apps for a fee. The links can not be hidden and take up valuable screen space.

Other Thoughts: Intuit has become too big for their britches. Their products have become secondary to their sales pitches. They are just about the only one in the market and they know it and take addvantage of it. I had their 2011 but re-installed the older 2001 and am actually much happier. A cleaner better product.

1 out of 5 eggsShocker on Payday

Pros: Company file converted well.

Cons: I had Quickbooks Premier 2003, upgraded to Pro 2013. Company file converted fine so far, but when Friday am came around, I was shocked to realize that I have to pay an additional $20-$30 PER MONTH to create paychecks for my employees. I understood in the description that I could pay my employees (without an additional fee.)

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Junk!

Pros: There Are No Pros - Period!

Cons: I wouldn’t recommend this pathetic software to my worst enemy.
My client bought this software package and couldn’t get it to work Properly, so he paid me to install it on his new Windows 8 system; What A Mistake.
2 days later, three re-installs script errors, data importing Problems, errors I have never heard of, etc. etc.
This will be the last time I install this miserable software package on any of my
Customer’s systems.

Other Thoughts: I sent an email to about half a dozen of my clients, advising them not to waste their time or money, and that I will not be helping them in any way with issues that arise with this application!

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Many options

Cons: This is an add -on to my other review, as I made a mistake in the tech knowledge and I would like to add that this is not a very intuitive or easy piece of software to use. E-mail is hard to set up, and I spent many hours trying to get this software to work on two machines, which was never accomplished, so I have to use whatever puter has the company file on it, or in my case, just use my desktop, when I would like to make the system portable for sales on the road.

2 out of 5 eggsMoney Pit

Pros: -Hard to deny that the software is powerful

-Support is pretty decent

Cons: -New version of Windows? You're probably incompatible again. When our company had upgraded it's computers from Windows XP to Windows Vista/7... guess what? Quickbooks didn't work. We had to buy all new licenses for every computer.

-There's a new non-backwards compatible version of Quickbooks every year

-Thus, you almost HAVE to buy all new licenses if you want to add a computer to your network after a year since a genuine copy is near impossible to obtain (and believe me I've tried).

-You've gotta shell out the big $$$ if you want to do anything advanced with Quickbooks via plug-ins. Some are well over $1000. Inventory management in particular is one that ruffles my feathers.

Other Thoughts: Honest to goodness, if we didn't have a monsterous database already, I'd be moving away from Quickbooks. I'm still considering it. It's just too expensive of a program for a small business to afford after a while.
