Quicken updates are a scam
Pros: Quicken is a fairly good product to use in managing your financial accounts, However....:
Cons: Once you have bought and started using the product you are nagged to upgrade every year to the "new" version without much of a discount for being a current user. Intuit will cut off download support from your financial institutions if you don't upgrade. The new version usually makes your data unusable by any previous version making it nearly impossible to go back to a prior version if you are unhappy with the new product. Usually the "new" version is not that functionally different than the old version but has a glitzier user interface. The new features (if any) are usually of questionable value.
Other Thoughts: My advice is that if you have a version of Quicken that you like and you don't need the support of automatic downloads of your financial data (i.e. you enter transactions by hand), is to stick with your current version and don't let Intuit blackmail you into an upgrade that you don't want or need.

Installation will wipe out previous data and uninstall older versions
Pros: Quick customer service during chat sessions
Cons: When I went to install this basic version the software indicated that all previous data on my computer will be deleted if using a higher version, older dated quicken such as quicken deluxe 2007. Also the software will delete older versions. I Contacted Quicken and they directed me to "How to Install Multiple versions on one computer" However all versions would now not be supported.
Other Thoughts: It would be nice if a consumer knew this information before opening the box and beginning to install. Now the software is not returnable to NewEgg
