Excellent
- Pros: SO many good things to say..Not sure where to start.
The UI is perfect, dock is very functional, can easily be customized to you liking. Features included are amazing, instant "widgets" that aren't on display All the time.
The OS is well thought out and So easy to use even someone with very little computer skills could use it. Bootcamp makes installing windows on a partition as easy as paint by numbers.
The whole OS flows unlike any windows system I have ever used. Includes so many useful programs, garage band, front row, iChat, spaces ( very nice ), quicklook, iCal, Dashboard, automator, Preview, Spotlight and even more.
Finder is much like windows start button, easy to find anything you are looking for.
- Cons: If you are used to Windows, as I am, the bar at the top of the screen takes a few minutes to get used to.
Once you get used to it, you start wishing Windows worked the same way.
The green, orange, red dots take a minute to get used to as well. The X doesn't close the app, it hides it. Not really a con, just so different than windows sometimes you have 3 or 4 programs open before you realize that you need to go back and actually shut them down. ( not that the system slows with several thing running )
- Other Thoughts: I have used Windows as long as I can remember. I always look forward to the next OS microsoft is working on. Currently using Windows 7 on my gaming machine and I love it. I really like Vista when everyone else was hating it.
I recently bought a mac mini and I have to say, if OSX could play all my games like windows, I would switch to apple. OSX is a VERY good OS, and I can say that even tho I've been a windows guy forever. But in the meantime, I use my apple system for everything unless I want to jump into an mmo, then I go to windows.
Did not like it
- Pros: It looks pretty.
- Cons: I would suggest that you not buy the new version of Lepord because I have had cases of it failing with certain drivers and slow response time. Now I am not saying you should go and buy vista but rather just not buy the new version and stick with the old.
- Other Thoughts: I had alot of success with the old version when it came down to video editing and photoshop.
ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!
