N/A 12/16/2010 7:47:16 PM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 2/5	Rating: 2/5Waste of Money, I miss Nero 7 Pros: - This is an updated review, please ignore the last. - Easy to use, menu options Cons: very unstable. Make take several attempts to make a disc. The entire package (from updater to Vision) can be unstable (random and repeated crashes.) I have only owned just over two week and I already had to uninstall and reinstall the software... This may not sound like a pain, but Nero made it so. The trick is to clean you registry after the uninstall and before you reinstall. Nero's updater isn't worth a cr@p, and no direct downloads either. Encoding to dvd format takes about three times as long as other programs and burn times are pretty slow too. Plug-ins do NOT work! Tech support only refers you to contact Microsoft. That what I get for paying extra for the plug-ins, back to using hacks. Other Thoughts: I used to own Nero 7, but it doesn't work on Win7 64bit. So I already know about some of Nero's problems. However I still liked their package... Not anymore. Two stars is me being nice. usually software gets better with new editions, not worse! Includes HD codecs, no more hacks. I do like the software package, but... Cons: Updates take several attempts to download and install. Nero's updater isn't worth a cr@p, and no direct downloads either. The entire package (from updater to Vision) can be unstable (random and repeated crashes.) Encoding to dvd format takes about three times as long as programs l and burn times are pretty slow too. Other Thoughts: I knew about several of Nero's problem before I purchased the software. Despite the numerous problems with the software, (that frankly have existed for a while and will probably never be fixed,) it is still the software I prefer to use. So if you can put up with the annoyances, then I would recommend it. If not, there are other options out there. All and all, a solid 3 star product.
