1 out of 5 eggsIt's a Downgrade

Pros: Better UI, but that is in the eyes of beholders. And not really important

Cons: It is downgrade. It removed so much features from the standard and add it to the Suite edition, the standard version is almost useless. The only think you can count on is burning data disc, which you can do with the software coming with your burner, and seeing a lot (I meant a lot) of messages prompting you to upgrade if you want the feature. Stay with what you have, don't bother with this.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk and poor support

Pros: Burns data, .iso files as they do other freeware programs

Cons: I purchased Nero 11 to edit commercials out of a Hi-Def .wtv files captured in Windows Media Center with HDHomerun tuner. I am using Windows 7 x64 with all current updates. The file imports into Nero Video, but when I click either Add Spotter or Scene Detection it pops up a message that a fatal error has occurred, then freezes, and then is shut down. The first time I contacted nero they asked me to run a GetSupportFiles they provided and send them the file it generated. I have done this three times but nero seems to be quiet about it, they were unresponsive as if they wish the problem was going away. Actually they responded the first time and asked to verify latest video card drivers but my nvidia card is a high end with the latest upgrades. I called their california office and they said they are ... too busy. They are too busy because of the several issues they have with an inferior product. It is good for burning disks, images and do other tasks that so many other free software pack

1 out of 5 eggsJunk and no support

Pros: Good for burning disks and images.

Cons: I am trying to use Nero Video to edit commercials out of a Hi-Dev .wtv file captured by Windows Media Center. I am using Windows 7 x64 with all current updates. The file imports into Nero Video, but when I click either Add Spotter or Scene Detection it pops up a message that a fatal error has occurred, then freezes, and then is shut down. The first time I contacted nero they asked me to run a GetSupportFiles they provided and send them back a NeroSupport folder it generated with files detailing information about my pc. I did as instructed and emailed nero 3-times even with new installs in newly formated drive to eliminate conflicts with other programs but nero has NOT responded. I called their california office and they cared less about my issue which in reality is their software issue that nero needs to resolve. They said their tech support was too busy. I guess they are too busy for the free support (via email) but I would not think they are be too busy if I paid a premium for phone

Other Thoughts: Win 7 64 based pc, asus mb, intel i7 cpu.

3 out of 5 eggsFinally Fixed

Pros: After 4 months of waiting since I complained to Nero that Wave Editor continually crashed on XP systems the company issued a fixed version on March 1st. It now works I'm gratified to say (see my first review).

Cons: Nero should never have issued the program before it was stable, but I'm glad at this point that aspect of it is working.

Other Thoughts: Practically anyone who buys things will get anrgry when a product doesn't perform as stated. When it's pointed out to the company that a serious problem exists it should take less time than a 4 month period to get it running correctly. But maybe the slogan is correct for software as well as cars. 'Never buy the first version of any car'.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware

Pros: The burning software works fine.

Cons: The DVD viewing software is useless, and the cd ripping interface is not intuitive. They really goofed up with respect to their older versions. Don't waste your money as I did.

Other Thoughts: I purchased the extended download directly from them. Rip off!

1 out of 5 eggsNot Quite Ready for Prime Time

Pros: Well it does open fast and appears to function fine in Windows 7.

Cons: If you're looking to use the Nero Wave Editor in XP it will not work. After opening a mp3 file, editing it by changing any detail and then trying to save it Wave Editor crashes. When Wave Editor is re-opened all controls are missing. The menu bar is gone. Restarting the program does nothing to change the problem. Rebooting Windows offers no relief as well.
I have been in touch with Nero support and they confirm the problem and say they have put their technicians on the project of finding a solution that they will patch in a future update. How long will that be they do not say. The problem does not happen if I install Nero 11 in Windows 7.

Other Thoughts: Since I purchased this program mainly for burning CDs, DVDs and editing music files I'm pretty annoyed at not being able to use it for its intended purpose on my XP system. I actually installed Nero 11 (one at a time to see if the issue was only with one computer) on three separate XP computers and the issue came up with Wave Editor each time.
If you're a Wave Editor user and expect enjoyment I would wait before purchasing Nero 11 until they've fixed the problem.

1 out of 5 eggsnot exactly blue ray

Pros: easy download, has online chat.

Cons: Plays blue-ray in upper left quadrant of the screen. On line chat offers no solution, e-mail results in an endless loop of information requests and finally silence.

Other Thoughts: the software that came with the liteon ihb 212 which has been reported to not work does very nicely, dont waist time with nero. Cyberlink integrates with media center, nero (if it worked) does not.
