Pros: Its easy to install. I guess it provides fair protection.

Cons: It slowed my laptop to a crawl. So much so that I had to uninstall it.

Pros: Outstanding protection.
Low computer resource usage.
Firewall (some "Internet Security" offerings lacks this).
Highly configurable with Gaming Mode option.
Anti Theft that can track down your device to the street/house number, if on wi-fi, to assist in recovery.
Anti Theft allows for remote disable & a "dummy" account that the thief/unauthorized user to use while protecting your files. If properly setup, this is a great plus to the Internet Security package.

Easy to setup & use. You will get email notifications once anti-theft is enabled, plus a chance to test it's protection.

Warns the user when Windows Updates are needed to be installed.

All of the great features of ESET NOD32 included.

Cons: Can sometimes be buggy to upgrade one version to the next, but ESET fixes this quickly. Not truly a con, but an alert, it's nothing to consider avoiding purchase over.

Other Thoughts: Have been using ESET software since 2009, Smart Security lives up to it's name. The Anti-Theft wasn't always there, has emerged in recent versions (I was a beta tester for the technology).

As often as this goes on promo, there's no reason why anyone shouldn't have a quality security suite, Note that while the boxed version may be one (or 2) versions behind, it doesn't matter.

Download from the ESET site the full installer (or Smart installer if there's a mixture of 32 & 64 bit computers), If selecting the Full installer, which I always do, be sure to select the proper bit version for your systems.

There is the option to create a rescue CD, however the latest version of the Windows ADK has to be installed for your system (Windows 8.1 requires a different version), in order to create the rescue media. This rescue media can scan areas where the main install can't (this is true of ALL AV/IS suites).

Also, the ESET Smart Security installer file has to be there to create Rescue media, so it's best to have the Full installer saved to a Flash drive, downloads folder or Data partition. It's good to have, the last three I saved to a Flash drive & never had to use them. Only once, on the very 1st install (in 2010) was this needed on an XP Pro system that was still the original install from 2004.

ESET Smart Security is one of the easier ones to setup & get going, as a plus, it scans for infections during the install & right afterwards, I recommend it to first time users & pros alike.

ESET also has a community forum where consumers can get assistance if needed, or help where are needed.

ESET Smart Security is the 1st choice that I recommend when someone is looking for a quality Internet Security suite. And for good reason.

Finally, when making these purchases, read carefully. Some Internet Security suites actually don't include a software Firewall. This used to be a given, that a Firewall was bundled, but not anymore.

Fortunately, ESET doesn't have to resort to these tactics, claiming their product is something that it isn't. True Internet Security includes a Firewall (the difference between an AV & an IS), If not, don't purchase.

Paid for two day, took 5+ days to get here. Seriously? The downloadable version is no longer available. Newegg doesn't care about the poor shipping speed.

Pros: Used a lot of security over the years but this is about the best I've used so far. easy install and setup was simple.

Pros: Very lite on the system, has not failed me yet in the 3 years I've been using the software. Fast delivery as aways.
