Windows XP Home Better Than Vista Home
- Pros: Windows XP Home is a mature operating system that Microsoft had spent the last five years perfecting. What I like about XP is its ease of use, efficiency (compared to Vista), outstanding reliability, robustness and the wide availability of 32-bit applications which work quite well with this OS (that most especially includes driver support). I consider Windows XP Home better than Windows Vista Home Premium because it does essentially the same tasks and functions with considerably less resources.
- Cons: Security vulnerablities that evidently will never go away. On the other hand, I expect/suspect Windows Vista will share these very same vulnerabilities once the world has focused its full attention for a year or two.
- Other Thoughts: Although I do not care much for Microsoft's business practices, they have shown excellent stewardship maintaining Windows XP with timely security patches and upgrades. I have owned a single OEM copy of XP Home for five years (since 1/2002). Windows XP was quite reliable then. I have upgraded through 2 service packs which have only made Windows XP better. And XP service pack 3 will soon be released. Why should I upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium and squander valuable CPU and Memory resources on Bloatware and Glitzware when XP Home meets my needs ?

System Builders 1 Pack
- Pros: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition at it's finest - for a new install that is.
- Cons: None. I don't see how you could have ANY!!

Old reliable
- Pros: It's been around for yrs & it works

- Other Thoughts: I purchased this for a rebuild. It loaded fine & updated to SP3 via the internet. So far so good.
XP only way to go
- Pros: Almost never freezes up, compatible with almost every piece of hardware and software.
- Cons: A little pricy.
