5 out of 5 eggsAmazing game

Pros: Was a great sequel to a game that was incredible. Graphics were great, smoother on PC, and gameplay was amazing. Multiplayer was awesome. I give this game a 9/10. And for those reading the comments about "Oh it's meh because the graphics suck and the multiplayer servers are gone." Well, it is a game from 10 years ago. So take that into consideration. Overall, the game was amazing with an outstanding story. Definitely worth a play.

Cons: Servers have been taken down
Pain because its a Vista game

4 out of 5 eggsA Classic, but without Multiplayer

Pros: Still one of the best games of all time, as far as I'm concerned. While the PC port didn't get the love and attention it deserved (much less dedicated menu icons; it still uses the Xbox control icons), you can tell that it was a labor of love, and that the team that ported it did most everything they could.

Honestly, I'm not going to write a 3000-character essay on why Halo 2 is good; at this point, you either know why, or you know you're not a Halo fan.

I will say that, for those of us who remember it when it was NEW, the nostalgia is overwhelming and even tear-jerking at times; but then, I'm a major geek

Cons: There are, unfortunately, two big problems.

Firstly, as of August 2013, Microsoft shut down the Games For Windows Live systems. This means it is no longer possible to log into the multiplayer servers (which were not hosted through Live) or even validate the game. So if you were hoping, like I was, to still be able to get the achievements added for Halo 2, or to get experience some nostalgic online play, I'm afraid you'll be very disappointed. The campaign is still good, still playable, but you've lost a good size chunk of the game.

Secondly, the game definitely looks dated on a modern display. While I can still play Halo: CE without cringing, Halo 2 was designed to be a much more cinematic experience, and is thus much more vulnerable to the unkindness of age. It's still perfectly playable, it still looks good sometimes (Halo will always have a fantastic sense of scale), but it won't floor you like it used to.

Other Thoughts: To summarize: the game's still good, I think it's still worth buying. But you won't be able to play online, you won't be able to log into Live, and that just reinforces the feeling that the game is always going to be missing a large part of its heart.

That said, do I regret buying it? No, not at all.

Other info:
I was able to launch and play the game with no problems running Windows 7 64-bit with up-to-date hardware that's probably a little insulted at sticking a 10+ year old game into it.

4 out of 5 eggsClassic

Pros: This is a even better game the xbox version.

if you never played the PC version but played the xbox like i you won't be disappointed from better FPS just way smoother all around gameplay offline and offline

Cons: now this took me about 20 mins to fix but it was kinda unpleasant getting a new game and it won't play. I'm running windows 7 64bit i ran into some problems just to get that game to run but after doing some google searching with some reading my problem was solved with a patch download and renaming some files in windows.

5 out of 5 eggsOld School Game "Epic"

Pros: This game is definitely legit, it comes with everything i want as well as the multiplayer action. I was wondering if anyone actually played live and there is full servers sometimes 8vs8 big team battle. Definitely should pick this game up if you were into it old school live!

Cons: Non! Want a bigger community for this game on pc!

4 out of 5 eggsEnjoyable Shooter

Pros: I enjoyed the first game on the PC and this follow up brings more of the same fast-paced action. The graphics are colorful and bright. which is a nice change from the bland settings of some other shooters. The story remains interesting. I liked the GFWL feature, which provided achievements and access to the Xbox Live service.

Cons: Initially GFWL was a little buggy before it was patched. While this game is fun, it cannot hold a candle to the Half-Life series.

Other Thoughts: The follow ups to this game never appeared on the PC, which is a shame.
