Gets The Job Done. Nothing Fancy
- Pros: Much better interface to manuever around in than Works 6.0 which was a big joke. Not MS Office, but the price is reasonable. Easy for my parents to use as they are former users iof 4.5a and 6.0. Program does not need to call home in Redmond when it is installed like other Microsoft products. My parents use the database feature and were able to convert their 4.5a database files for mailing lists for organizations very easily.
- Cons: Very basic and no where near MS Office's bells and whistles IF you need those bells and whistles. Most people don't. File format is different than Office's formats. Lots of stupid templates designed by Microsoft. I sometimes wonder if the templates were not designed by Bill Gate's kids on summer break.
- Other Thoughts: If you are a Works fan, there is a rumour that MS is going to replace Works with a stripped down version of Office 2010 that will contain ads. This might be the last true Works program that MS releases. Something to check out.
