1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None, I hate this OS!

Cons: Total junk. Slow, overbloated. If your hard drive fails and you have to reinstall. THEY WON't LET YOU!

4 out of 5 eggs64bit

Pros: not sure yet

Cons: I new I would have to order 64bit(came with 2 seperate 32bit and 64bit versions with service pack 2),Thought I could get free upgrade to windows 7 but It looks like you would have to buy the retail version from microsft store.

Other Thoughts: Why do i bother, should just buy and apple and be done with microsoft.

4 out of 5 eggsFor Vista64 - additional wait time

Pros: Very quick load time... solely based on upgrading from a dual core to an i7 (920) and having vista32 on a fresh install

Cons: Would have preferred the 64-bit on the same DVD or the option of either purchasing the 32-bit or the 64-bit... thought I was getting both and I use my home PC alot so I might be getting my home PC up and running while waiting for Vista64 to come in the mail from M$, then take my down again to do a fresh install of Vista64.

3 out of 5 eggsOEM x2 better?

Pros: Boot camp lets you run it on a mac.

Cons: There's still software you have to get Windows for.

Other Thoughts: So, my understanding is that if I want the 32 and 64 bit versions of this I might as well buy the 32 bit and the 64 bit OEM versions of this, for $22 cheaper and I'd have both disks, and two licenses which I could use on two computers rather than one license that I can only use on one computer. If this is in anyway incorrect somebody please speak up...

5 out of 5 eggsLove Vista (SP1)

Pros: Like many, I swore I would never move to Vista. But when I built my new machine, I decided to do the dance. So far, I love it. It is unreal how easy it was to install and honestly, it boots up much faster than XP ever did. It looks good too. I have zero problems installing all of my hardware and sw programs. So I am not sure what all the bad press was about, but so far, VISTA ROCKS....

Cons: None....

Other Thoughts: MS hit a home run here.

2 out of 5 eggswhy not 64 bit

Pros: I haven't had it long enough to rate it properly. Installed perfectly.

Cons: It's MICROSOFT, what can I say? You buy it -they own it
so 2 eggs will have to do.

Other Thoughts: I would like to buy it in 64 bit. I have to get it (home premium) in 32 bit then request a cd to upgrade to 64 bit. Go figure I guess that is a con too!

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible.

Pros: Windows Aero looks pretty.

Cons: My computer BSOD'd over four times in the last month.
And NO, my computer is not old. It has a 5.8 rating, with
Intel Q8300 (Quad core with 2.5 ghz clock) processor,
4 GB RAM,
Radeon HD 4670 graphics card,
Everything set at factory settings (nothing overclocked)

Other Thoughts: Not worth the disk it's printed on

5 out of 5 eggsShakin' My Head.........

Pros: There is nothing wrong with Vista now. There was when it first came out. People just don't understand that they either had to build a new current system or update to Vista standard. Hardware drivers were the biggest problem back then. I have had this for over a year now, not one problem with it.

Cons: Shakin' my head because, Just when bugs are worked out on Vista then Microsoft is Talking Windows 7. So how much longer are they going to support Vista Now. The one thing I dislike about this retail version is that its only good for the system you put it on, can't be used on any other system you may have. Better off going OEM version and spending less. Not like XP where you could just plain use it 3 times and on different systems. Don't think Purchasing another Product Code is going to be cheaper either, it's the same price as this Retail Version.

Other Thoughts: Nothing like Microsoft forcing people to spend more of their hard earned cash to make them richer.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent gaming OS

Pros: It looks much better than XP, I even like the Games Explorer(all your games in one place) and Windows Experience Index (a score based system to which is a good way to tell if your PC can run a game or not). Microsoft Update also updates your PC without having to open a browser to download and install the updates (something you had to do in XP). There are other things...

Cons: This OS is resource intensive. If you install this on a computer, make sure you do it on a good one! I recommend trying to surpass the system recommendations for this OS.

Also, Microsoft has made drasttic changes to the interface, so using Windows Vista does take some getting used to if you dont adjust to different software appearances/GUI types things as easily.

Other Thoughts: Im running Windows Vista on an Intel Pentium EE CPU, 2GHz of Kingston HyperX RAM, and an ATI Radeon X1300 video card. As I said, Windows Vista is resourse intensive.
