great os
- Pros: works
- Cons: its vista .... on a pc
- Other Thoughts: the guy below is **** a 2500 mac can be matched by a pc for about 2000 but that extra 500 comes in handy when i dont have to talk to asian people for tech support as you do with windows macs no viruses macs dont need the maintenance pcs do and macs also have alot more resell value then a pc a pc laptop early 08 goes for 100-300 at most the early mac book pros are still going for 600-1200 o and windows 7 cost 100+ the new mac os snow leopard cost 29 bucks so muahahahahaha pcs suck
Works well
- Pros: In my mind, Windows 2000 Professional will always be the best. The only reason why I got Vista Business, was to stay ahead with the times; and needed wireless internet to be supported(which it is for XP and newer). Service Pack 1 has been very stable for the most part. I have not experienced any crashes since release.
- Cons: I would not invest $278.99 of your hard earned money on this. Latest news is that Microsoft is going to ditch Vista, and will be primarily working on the new Windows 7. I bought my copy for $110 OEM, many months back which is why I chose to get this. If you absolutely need Vista Business, find the OEM.
If you want something a bit more future-proof, invest in the upcoming Windows 7; should be released sometime this year. Vista is on a downward slope.
- Other Thoughts: Whatever you do, don't get an apple. Microsoft isn't perfect; but it's the most functional operating system you can get without being taxed through the roof; by Apple being the one and only. E.g, a $2,500 apple's specs can easily be matched by a $1,000 PC. Don't buy into the Apple hype.
REtail Copy for Test Machine
- Pros: Reasonably stable. Looks nice. Retail versions can be moved from one PC to another.
- Cons: Microsoft makes you pay $10.00 to get the 64-bit install DVD. I found this to be extremely irritating.....
- Other Thoughts: For $10.00 Microsoft will send you the 32-bit install on a CD...
