Microsoft window Home Server
- Pros: was able to create that pack up device alway needed this is automatic. and be able to retrive pics when away from home.Abble to build a server out of an older system that was just sitting around.
- Cons: haven't been able to find any yet
- Other Thoughts: have to manage the back up because they will fill the drives fast
Awesome Product
- Pros: Microsoft nailed this one. I needed a backup solution but wanted something more than an external drive so after some research chose to build myself a home server out of some old stuff (specs required to run this software is very low). After getting all set up and running I was blown away with the ease of use. Then looking at some of the 3rd party "add-ins" and scalability of the server I couldn't be happier. It's now tucked away in my utility room with no peripherals attached, working like a charm - my home network feels complete.
- Cons: I had a minor issue with a 3rd party add-in beta that needed some tending to but that certainly wasn't MS's fault - there are A LOT of ad-ins out there so be careful with those.
- Other Thoughts: Yes, it's more expensive than just a [USB] external drive but you get so much more that it's worth it. Not only do I use it to back up my computers but it's also a media server that works wonderfully with extenders like my XBOX (love it). Also works flawless with Win7 and Remote Access (over the internet) is really, really cool. Great work Microsoft! I highly recommend this product. (I don't use a Mac but I hear it also works well with them.)

- Pros: Really good product and a really good price. Set this up on a 'home brew" server and it does the trick all the way around.
- Cons: I haven't figured out how to have it make coffee yet.
