4 out of 5 eggsCool but disapointed

Pros: It's great to be able to purchase the the third series in a complete package. The game is okay so don't get me wrong when I say, as a continuation of one of the most popular game's it is only for marketing and to take advantage of thier previous success. The graphics are cool and the game is fun but.....

Cons: This should really be called Age of Mythology 2 and not Age of Empires3. This game is in no way a stepped up game to where AoE2 left off. The individual character control has gone backwards and instead of making them better, as was the case, playing through AoE 1 and the expansions through to the end AoE 2 . The controls in 3 are gone instead of enhanced, all your troops can really do is follow the special character and attack. And thats not a select to follow like you used to be able to select one or more troops to follow or guard or patrol. Really if you have the time you only need the main character, like AoMythology that they added, that never dies and has special powers to find treasures. So you can never really lose unless you walk away to get a drink and forget to come back right away. Giving the computer the time then to destroy everything with out you there to defend the last structure. Then the special character can't save the day.

Other Thoughts: Nothing like Age of Empires and AoE2 and it's certainly not those games with added features or a saga continued. While not a bad game I have no desire to go back and play again or play non campaign because there is no individuality in character control. I didn't expect it to be the same as 1 and 2, but I also didn't expect them to throw all of those games features out the window either. They did a great job of taking advantage of pc game advancements when makeing the first Age's and enhanceing the game features through Ages 2 expansions, but this time the graphics are the only thing better. It's a very simple game and has no place in the strategy category, if you ask me. I was very disapointed in the game controls compared to what has made AoE such a hit. I've been playing AoE 2 for about 4 years and will go back, after AoE 3's last campaign. So it's not so bad that I've stopped playing but it should be called AoMythology 2!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome in 3D

Pros: The 3D in this game is better than anything else I have played. While the FPS 3D is outstanding the vivid detail this game provides in 3D is outstanding. On a more gaming standpoint it is an easy to lern fun game that has great replayability and easy, fun multiplayer that makes for some sweet battles. The campaigns are pretty interesting as well

Cons: Lost formations, patrol, and auto explore which all kinda stink but really isnt a big deal. I miss stone though for some reason. It is simplified to 3 resources.

Other Thoughts: Overall good. If you have been playing with the idea of 3D it is worth it for this game alone.

5 out of 5 eggsFree tax for TX buyers

Pros: I love to it when I can buy the game I want, pay no tax, and save gas and time instead of drive all the way to local stores then look for it in the limited, disorganized shelves then get in line to pay tax for it.

Cons: Newegg needs to change and allow people to leave the Cons sections blank. They asked to write something on here in order to submit my evaluation

Other Thoughts: It is a game. You either like it or don't like it. And of course, newegg is an affordable, reliable place to buy tech stuffs.

Personally, I find this game less interested than Warcraft3 TFT. Hahaha

5 out of 5 eggsA great buy

Pros: Easy to learn, no steep learning curve. Good re-playability so far. Story line sucks you in as you learn, you'll find yourself wanting to know what's next.

Cons: Starting tutorials aren't quite as in-depth as in previous games. Won't show you the perks of the different buildings/units. You have to learn that on your own. Story mode follows a fictional family through history instead of known historical figures, of course this is only a con, if you were hoping to play as George Washington like you could with El Cid in in previous games in the series.

Other Thoughts: I just got the game not too long ago, but became instantly addicted. It's a great addition tot he series, and while there are some things I miss from AoEII AoEIII won't let you down in therms of diverse gameplay.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy, Great game

Pros: Its an awesome game at a great price. Game play is easy to follow, its a great step over AOE 2, graphics are okay.
At 15 bucks per game in the collectors edtion that's a steal

Cons: Its kinda of a performance hog if you are using an older computer or even some new ones because the engine is not great that way.
You lose the formations from AOE 2,a nd the patrol option.
You can't tell your explore to roam like you can in AOE 2

Other Thoughts: BUY IT!!!
