5 out of 5 eggslast batch

Pros: Windows 7 has been great to me! I must have picked up the last 32-bit batch before newegg ran out.
Every program I have thrown at it seems to work fine: UDK, Blender 2.49c, Google Sketchup 8, AutoCAD 2008 and more

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: My old scanner drivers would not install, so I tried out the Windows XP virtualization and it works great.

2 out of 5 eggsIt's Windows. Meh.

Pros: Reasonably stable and not nearly as wonky as Vista. Still responds to a "dir" request in a command window.

Cons: Ridiculously large price for OEM copy.

Other Thoughts: If I thought I could get drivers for new hardware on XP Pro I never would have spent the money.

2 out of 5 eggs3GB RAM

Pros: few more bells and whistles than xp 32

Cons: Will not show anymore ram than win xp 32 bit AND is Much Greater RAM HOG
Not enough memory for Decent gaming rig.

Other Thoughts: At least Windows 7 64 bit shows up to 16 GB or more of ram depending on your system build.
Wish i had did more research and bought the 64 bit version.
Newegg ROCKS and it is my fault not theirs.

5 out of 5 eggsSecond Win7 build

Pros: Was concerned about installing with all SATA drives and no floppy. Just setup the BIOS, rebooted with the Win7 in the DVD drive and it installed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Never put in the product code for activation until you let it run a week or more. You never know when a component, such as a drive, might fail.

5 out of 5 eggsIts an OS

Pros: Its Microsoft, they own my soul. It does what it's supposed to, more stable than Virusista.

Cons: Having to learn where they hid the customization controls, but I found them. Good grief Microsoft, would you quit shuffling stuff around!

5 out of 5 eggsBest OS SO far

Pros: The best operating system Microsoft has put out thus far.
It is efficeint and fast.

I would recommend it for any new computer and 64 bit for any AMD processor.

Cons: Backwards comaptiblilities is ok.

The only real problem I have had is with some older audio drivers on audio devices the were more that 2 years old.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend any vista user upgrade.

spend the extra $30 and get Professional. The home edidtion is a watered down version.

5 out of 5 eggsWindows 7 Pro 32 Bit

Pros: No problems installing. Loves Vista drivers especially for my Diamond 4650 512 video card. Everything application wise went in ok. Had to download Windows live to get the "E" mail program. Tried to load MY DVD XP drivers but it choked and coughed but did no damage. I use Vista 64 bit on my other machine and both have excellent stability.

Cons: Vista 64 bit chokes on nothing but this one did. Don't know enough about Windows 7 yet.

Other Thoughts: I always use the Windows Classic theme.

5 out of 5 eggsWindows!?

Pros: What can I say... it's a Microsoft product. The only thing to say here is the price at Newegg for this OS is better than any other "reliable" vendor I have found.

Cons: This is a Microsoft complaint. According to the license you must have an OEM copy of Windows installed on a PC before you can volume icense it.

Other Thoughts: I bought 94 copies for builds being done at my company.
