Pros: Compatibility with previous versions. Excel is better.

Cons: office 2010 is just plain clunky compared to 2007. The ribbon does not work correctly and correction of the issue is buried. Outlook's architecture with it's. pst file system is archaic. It does not integrate into project data base systems and does not integrate well into MS Exchange Server either. Inexcusable.

Other Thoughts: Outlook/Exchange Server did work OK at one time. But after automatic security update, many issues have developed which have not been addresses by MS.

Open Office plus G-Mail may be a more intelligent solution until MS gets their act together.

Pros: Every computer in my college has it. It is relatively familiar to older versions.

Cons: If you took a Microsoft class before, get ready to take another just to understand everything about Office 10. I miss being able to quickly find what I need. It used to be as simple as opening a tab and looking down a list in organized order. Now, I have to click on misleading icons, some of which are hidden. It never took me so long to just find the spell check button. Thank Goodness for shortcut keys.

Other Thoughts: I think Microsoft went down hill with this. I do not like it at all. The reason I gave it this many eggs was because it is tolerable.

Other Thoughts: Can this software bundle be used on two 'regular' desktop PC's (one each at home & office?) Or, is there a 'qualifier' of some sort within the software/registration that truly only allows software installation on one desk top PC & one portable/laptop PC???

Pros: I got my hands on a non retail version about a year ago, and have been using it sense. At first I didn't like the new ribbon interface, but it works well once you're used to it.

Loads extremely fast.

Cons: None.

Pros: More formatting functions and flexibility. Icon driven menu.

Cons: Locks up and requires re-opening file. Locks up and doesn't allow menu functions. Menu icons vanish.

Other Thoughts: I'm very dissappointed. This software was installed on a relatively new computer running Windows 7 and there should be no problems.

2 out of 5 eggsI just assumed it was better than what I was using (Office 2000 and Thuinderbird)

Pros: Everyone else uses it.

Cons: Tech support is non-existent, yet time-consuming.

Cannot import emails from Thunderbird.

Templates are bland compared to the equivalent Mac programs.

Confusing menu navigation.

Other Thoughts: I am having what appears to be a simple problem. Email messages are on the server, but Outlook cannot download them. According to the server checks during Outlook set up -- all is fine. (BTW Thunderbird has no problem -- and it's free.) Countless hours of phone tech support yields no result.

Pros: Its MS Office nothing much else compares "If it worked as it should on the most basic level"

I am completely dissapointed that MS released an Office product that cant SAVE files properly?, Please Google the error many users are reporting in the above quotation. I continually receive the error in Word and Excel on a clean install of Win7 and Office 2010 on 3 of my machines. Of course MS technical support is blaming everybody but themselves. Turned off the AutoRecover and I still get the error (I Paid for AutoRecover it should be ON) only workaround is to SAVE AS another document type, then you get multiple saves of the same document in different sizes. Sometimes 0 bytes in size the files name is there but nothing you produced is in the document. Which has come back to haunt me on multiple occasions when I needed the information in the document but the document was empty. Never had this error in Office 2007. Rocky start for Office 2010 :(

Other Thoughts: I have to give it 1 star simply because such an expensive productivity product should not have such a huge significant problem that simply put "fails to make the user productive" You cant SAVE files with confidence.

Pros: Only good if you have to convert/upgrade Access from previous versions for customers.

Cons: Too pricy! Activation! Access is proprietary!

Other Thoughts: My preference is to use Open Office 3.3 (free or make a donation). While there is no Outlook comp, it offers spreadsheet, presentations, drawings, word processing and other features that get most of what you need. And they read and write the Microsoft format. There is a relational database component as well; and, it is open systems not proprietary like access. Consequently, there is no easy conversion for anything other than the tables.
