5 out of 5 eggsSkyrim Power

Pros: On my 400w psu it runs Skyrim smoothly on Ultra @ 1680x1050. Fallout 3 is butter smooth at highest as well. I have not tried the latest games with it.

Also, this thing is nice and short and fits in a Dell Optiplex 790 minitower (with upgraded PSU)

Cons: The free game bundle sucks, and the rebate sucks. Rebates are evil. The amount of labor and paper waste they generate for $10, $15 each is astounding. They should be banned.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent choice for multi-monitor setup

Pros: Has all the great benefits of it's cousin, VX2450wm, but the bezel is better for multiple monitor setups. The bezel is also matte instead of gloss, which makes another big difference.

We have twelve VX2450wm monitors in the office and have had great success over the last 2 years. Out of the box the VA2451M is very similar and i expect the same experience. We purchased 5 this year.

Cons: The only thing I was surprised to see is it came with a VGA cable instead of a DVI cable like the VX2450.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Variable speed zoom
Keeps focus while zooming
Image stabilization make a noticeable improvement
40x optical zoom
Sound is fairly sensitive
Good in low light even with small sensor
.MTS files play fine on WMP and open in Sony Vegas Pro

Cons: Slightly misleading, it says it records in full 1080 resolution but has a 1.5MP sensor, the sensor can only capture around 1440x900 then the image is upscaled to 1920x1080. A true 1080HD camera should have a minimum of 2.1MP, many have 3 to 5MP.

Short battery life, it's rated around 45 minutes normal use, or a little over an hour non-stop recording. OE batteries are very expensive, around $55 for the smallest capacity, $70 for an extended run time. You can get a $20 aftermarket battery that plugs into the charging port, but then the battery life is not displayed on screen.

Only records at 1080I and 480I, no progressive setting.

The video files are buried about 4 folders down, not in the normal place compared to other cameras not using AVCHD format.

Other Thoughts: You can't compare this camera to a model costing $400 or more, in quality or features, but in it's price range it works well. For $229 it would have been overpriced, but for $89 it's a good deal if you need 1 or more low cost near HD quality cameras. Since it's from JVC and not some Chinese newcomer, it's fairly refined and has no bugs. Ive tired some smaller brand cameras and they have not worked as well.

I wouldnt buy this to record a once in a lifetime vacation or event, but when you want ok quality and a real zoom (ruling out phone cameras) for school plays, kids baseball games or your 13 year old wants to go outside and make a movie, this will work.

I would have given it 5/5 if it had either progressive recording option, larger sensor (2MP+) or less expensive batteries.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Quiet
Matches Fractal Case Color Scheme
Moves A Lot Of Air

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this fan as a top exhaust configuration for my Fractal Arc Mini case. I noticed a 2-3 degree reduction in my operating motherboard temperatures as a result. Combined with my ASUS Fan Xpert2 software, I have it set to provide the quietest and most efficient exhaust setup. I am 100% satisfied with this fan, and it is almost totally silent. Nice job Fractal :)

4 out of 5 eggsNice, Runs cools...but

Pros: The board layout is really, really nice. Everything fits perfectly. The POST LEDs are very helpful as I messed up my RAM installation. I also like the fact that you can over clock with software.

Cons: Maybe I did something wrong but the machine seems to turn on by itself 5 minutes after I turn it off. The first few times this happened, I thought I didn't shut it down but the last few times, about 5 minutes after shutting it down, it comes on automatically as though someone hits the power button. If anyone else out there has experienced the same issue with this board, please reply to this post.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth it

Pros: Quad core; just keep throwing more work at it, it'll keep chugging.
Integrated graphics are unbelievable; can tackle most games at med-high with no problem. Combine the integrated with the discrete in crossfire (for certain titles) and it gets even better.
1600MHz RAM is noticeably quick and there is a vacant soDIMM slot for future upgrades.
Wireless N + Bluetooth 4.0 + Gigabit Ethernet.
Windows 8 boots with "SSD speeds" but on a 5400RPM HDD (I average 9 seconds from power button to lockscreen)
Keyboard is very comfortable + 10key pad. Also has no proprietary keys that only work with particular programs as some other machines do. Every key is usable with straight Windows.
Touchpad is better than others give it credit for (just disable any annoying gestures especially tap-to-click and it's much better) Hey at least it has separate buttons instead of "touch zones"
Runs surprisingly cool for having AMD chips under the hood. (even under load)
Battery life is ~5 hrs on "Balanced".
DVD drive is very sturdy. (Doesn't rattle when the disc spins. Even massively unbalanced discs are nice and quiet.)
Ships with x64 bit Windows 8. (give Win 8 a chance it's just windows 7 with some new graphics tacked onto it.)
Dolby Home Theater v4 keeps speakers from crackling at higher volumes. Audio out jacks are wired well and don't "hiss" through speakers or headphones. Headphone out jack supports headsets that combine the mic and phones on the same 3.5mm plug, as well as standard headphones.
Comes with quite a bit of preloaded bloatware, BUT it all uninstalls nicely and without issues.
Screen is plenty bright and plenty dark and has decent blacks.
Machine is very light for it's size.
Webcam and built-in mic are decent.
Media card reader works well.

Cons: Some titles suffer from graphical micro-stuttering because the two GPUs take turns rendering every other frame. (many games are optimized to overcome this so it's not a big deal.) The integrated GPU is so powerful, I'd recommend running everything you can off of it alone, (solves stuttering, runs cooler, saves energy) if the integrated is not cutting it, then throw in the discrete GPU.
Graphics hardware can only run in two modes, integrated GPU only or BOTH integrated and discrete GPUs in crossfire. You cannot run off the discrete alone.
Definitely should get an 8GB 1600MHz RAM kit for this, 4GB is ok for a while, but you'll start to feel the sluggishness of dumping memory to HDD cache under heavier loads.
While it boots quickly, 5400 RPM HDD is a tad slow. I live with it, but others may want to upgrade to something faster.
Although 2.8GHz turbo core is listed in the specs, I have never been able to hit 2.8GHz. The highest I've ever seen is 2.28GHz. (Still feels plenty fast though)
Screen's colors are a bit washed out, but... you can't win em all.
Speakers may not crackle, but they are very quiet and have, as little as makes no difference, no bass whatsoever. Movie dialog is crisp and loud, but music will suffer from the lack of bass.
Glossy black finish is not the easiest to keep shiny, it collects fingerprints badly.
Outer casing plastic is not the sturdiest. Flexes a little under pressure, but I've seen worse. Just be gentle with it.
Power brick gets quite hot under heavy load. (Charging and gaming combined)

Other Thoughts: I had difficulty installing Linux on this machine, likely due to the odd GPU setup. Your mileage may vary.
The crossfired GPUs mean that the graphics drivers must be repackaged by the manufacturer, AMD's normal drivers won't work properly. I suppose you could build your own drivers, but I've never tried that myself. Just something to think about.
For the money, this laptop has blown away my expectations. I would highly recommend this to a friend.
After owning this machine for 7 months or so, and using it heavily and daily at college, (programming and gaming) not one thing has gone wrong. All the ports still work (and I use every single one of them every day).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price!

Pros: Having only used this one single mechanical keyboard and none else, I cant really make a comparison.

I do however believe this is a great investment over anything with rubber domes.

Cons: at first I kept accidentally hitting wrong keys and started thinking I wish I had MX blacks.

Although not being a tactile switch this keyboard excels at being pounded on without a second thought if the key was pressed. There is enough audial and tactile feedback to where you wont second guess.

Other Thoughts: I really want to try a board with blues.

3 out of 5 eggsOn board video

Pros: Easy to install, looks good, works well for a business computer.

Cons: only 1 6gb/s port, onboard video does not work

Other Thoughts: i bought this motherboard, installed it in my build, only to see a blank screen when going to POST. took it to my local computer shop and they told me it was the on board video, so i bought a temp graphics card. motherboard works 100% other than the on board video. So i bought a new one, sent the old one back hoping for a fully functional motherboard, but again the on board video does not work.

5 out of 5 eggsSupporting 5800K

Pros: This board has allowed me to push an A10-5800K to 4.6Ghz, and push my Samsung Green RAM to 2400Mhz C10.

I am very surprised by this boards capability.

Cons: Blank~
