4 out of 5 eggswheee

Pros: well, nice to still be able to get this. Gonna wait til windows 9 to upgrade.
it works as intended (by microsoft anyway..lol)

Cons: 1- its windows. sigh. How I wish adobe and other software programs I use would support linux. Make life easier.
2- the 1.300 updates needed to bring it up to speed after install literally took FOREVER.

LOL

4 out of 5 eggsGood price, slooow shipping

Pros: Good price for upgrading from Windows XP to W 7. Still prefer Windows 7 to Windows 8. Having the whole touch screen Windows 8 approach dumped upon the masses just shows how indifferent Microsoft is to the consumer.

Cons: Having to buy W 7 because Microsoft no longer supports XP. Good way to "encourage" people to buy an upgraded operating system from Microsoft, right?

Slow, slow shipping. Believe it was via DHL. Stupidly convoluted route where the package was routed hundreds of miles out of the way before being directed to my address. I understand the need to cut shipping costs, but please, please find a more competent mailing service. What would have taken two or three days by any other means took close to a week.

4 out of 5 eggsWin 7 Home Premium OEM

Pros: Its Windows 7 Home Premium OEM and it works! I Bought it on April 7th around 9pm. I paid for 3 day shipping and rush processing. It was here mid day on April 10th!

Cons: The CD key or License key was very small and difficult to read. I have good eyesight and had a dificult time seeing the letters/numbers correctly. The strange font, small text size, and authenticity background artwork clashed and made the process frustrating. I docked 1 egg for this.

Other Thoughts: Many people here in the reviews have complained about not being able to activate their OEM version. I am guessing the hard to read cd key / license key was a big factor in their product dissatisfaction and low review scores. I recommend purchasing a magnifying glass if you dont already have one.

1 out of 5 eggsRun Windows 7 Advisor First!

Pros: needed the 32-bit version which worked okay

Cons: 64-bit version does not load on some computers

Other Thoughts: If you open the package, but it does not load, then Newegg will not accept a return. Run the Windows 7 Advisor first to see if you need the 32-bit version

5 out of 5 eggsSo sad

Pros: People its very sad how you all have to fork out so much money for OS. No wonder people go Linux and Steam OS. I for multiple builds and installs used a legal windows 7 iso file and used windows loader to make it genuine. I mean save your self some money here. And if you have to have more than 16 gigs or ram your gonna have to buy professional or ultimate another grip on the wallet. I mean save some money and use it for better pc parts. Its not that hard just youtube it.

Cons: .

5 out of 5 eggsdecent OS

Pros: It is not windows 8

Windows 7 is designed to be used with a mouse and keyboard. Windows 8 is designed to be used with a touch screen.

I have found using a touch screen interface in windows 8 to be unacceptable. It requires a lot of extra clicks, etc. to do what you want to do. On a PC, win8 is absurd.

Windows 7 is currently the only Microsoft OS I will use.

Cons: none
