1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: It played Blu-rays when it worked. Good interface and layout. Works well with media center remotes. Looks good. Fairly user friendly.

Cons: None of the pros matter when it won't fulfill it's primary function. Blu-ray playback would randomly pixelate the first time it was used each day. After killing the program and restarting a time or two it would usually work right. Occasionally would have to fuss with it for an hour before getting it to work. Previous version PDVD 10 worked fine on same computer. These problems were annoying but liveable. Recently STOPPED PLAYING BLU-RAYS ENTIRELY. Gives error about cant read drive and out of region code changes even though the code has never been changed and drive shows 4 changes still available. I re-installed Windows 7 and it still has the same problem. I downloaded Corel WINDVD 11 TRIAL AND IT PLAYS BLU-RAYS PERFECTLY ON SAME PC. Tech support is in India. I opened a ticket with Cyberlink support 5 days ago. They asked me for 7 pieces of information off my PC including screenshots that took about an hour to grab and submit via their online ticketing system. On day 2 they said "thanks, we will look at it". I have heard nothing since. I've spent several hours on Cyberlink user forum trying to fix it on my own and feel like I am getting no help from manufacturer. I would avoid this if you want a product that works.

Other Thoughts: I'd really like this product fixed quickly, or a refund from Cyberlink, or a free upgrade to the new version (assuming it works.) I am really frustrated with all the problems I've had with this product. Newegg still rocks.

1 out of 5 eggsCustomer service sucks

Pros: I have Power DVD 10 Ultra. Not a bad product.

Cons: I spent days working with a person in India trying to get the 3D features to work. Waste of time. I sent them a DXDIAG log file, but they did not know how to read it.

I finally fixed the problem myself. This is a very very complex product. You are really really on your own to make it work. Caveat emptor!!!

Other Thoughts: The wonderful folks at Cyberlink were so happy to have me buy their product that since 11/29/2010 they have been sending me the confirmation email: "Order confirmation for order #9293310242". Every half hour. Every day. Every month. Every year. Thousands and thousands of emails.

I'm still getting the confirmation email, and I still can't get anyone at Cyberlink to listen.

Moral, if you do buy this product, don't make my mistake of buying from Cyberlink. Buy from Newegg. Newegg speaks English and has been really wonderful to work with over the years.

5 out of 5 eggsWORKS PERFECTLY!!

Pros: It works exactly as it would if you had the digital copy. Updating is easy. A little message pops up when there's a new patch or update, click on it and run the update. It's that simple. The 3D works perfectly with my Nvidia 3D Vision. Although, if you're running surround resolutions you should disable all but one screen for it to work properly. And it must be played in fullscreen mode. It plays all Blu Rays I've thrown at it. Installing was easy. I have had no issues with this whatsoever and it was cheap. $40 shell shocker deal. Thanks Newegg. With hardware acceleration using Nvidia CUDA you can acheive a very high quality picture from this software. Far beyond anything a standard Blu Ray player could produce. Also reproduces audio perfectly. This is great software for $40.

Cons: NONE.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what kind of problems these other reviewers are having. But they're probably not meeting the minimum hardware requirements or they just don't know what they're doing. Find someone with half a brain and get them to do it for you. At this time PowerDVD12 is out. If you want to get a version of PowerDVD you should get the newest one. However, I checked it out. All of the new features are completely worthless in my opinion.

1 out of 5 eggsGet in line, NO VENDOR SUPPORT

Pros: Can't say there are any since it won't load.

Cons: Run around with support, go through all the steps and they say you have to supply them with proof of purchase, then you do and they say they already answered the problem. This thing will not load the install, just stalls...
STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY, to be sure worst support I have ever seen, and at my age that saying something..

Other Thoughts: Just don't buy it, period..

1 out of 5 eggsOverbearing and getting worse with every release

Pros: It plays BluRay and DVD's, and has direct uncoded HMDI output to my digital decoder directly, so there is no degradation to audio or video.

Cons: Just about everything else, version 9 quits working due to the new BluRay encryption scheme, and the company will not longer support updating the keys for those software. Put services in your windows registry purely for the purpose of serving the needs of the company instead of the end user. Want to be everything, but does it poorly. WHY WOULD I WANT POWERDVD to be my photo, music player and find my mobile devices? Clunky user interface with every new version. THe Power DVD interface has never been great, but at least it was functiona, I have used it since version 5, but with every new release, it seems to be getting worse.

Other Thoughts: The SW should concentrate on being the best DVD, BluRay Player and keep updating the DVD, BluRay service to get new customers and repeat buyer instead of trying to be a "jack of all trade and ace with none", with iTunes, MS media player, and WinAmp, etc, etc out there, it's hardly sensible to a DVD/BluRay player trying to be the "be all end all" media player. it FAILS at being that. Cyberlink should stop trying to be a all medai player but instead try to be the best DVD/BluRay player, the name is PowerDVD for goodness sake.

1 out of 5 eggswarning Will Robinson!!

Pros: played BlueRay movies ok but. . .

Cons: will not play 3D on my Samsung 47" LED/3D set. Spent many hours trying to figure it out & finally gave up
when I deleted the Power DVD 11 from my system it wiped out both of my Windows 7 DVD drivers!! They do try to sell you lots of movies & software always though - will drive you crazy - a total money machine - pass

Other Thoughts: do yourseld a favor &
a) buy yourself a dedicated BlueRay player
b) look elsewhere for this kind of software

1 out of 5 eggsOnly lasts two years from release date.

Pros: Works great. Until they stop supporting it.

Cons: Once they stop supporting it. No Blurays work. Not even old ones. Have to buy next version.

Other Thoughts: Cheaper to just by a stand alone Bluray player or a Playstation III.

5 out of 5 eggsThe one stars make me laugh

Pros: It works on my computer which is an AMD, I have never had a disk not play that the problem wasn't fixed by a simple free update.

Cons: cost, it is better to just buy a blu-ray player now when comparing the cost of this software alone

Other Thoughts: People make claims and talk about how technically knowledgeable they are and yet I only have knowledge from trial and error. Never took a course actually did very little reading on building systems yet I got this to work flawlessly on my AMD Quad core system. Then again I built my AMD Quad core system which is almost 3 years old and still scores in the top 10% of NovaBench test in the last 6 months. Not bad for a sub $1500 system counting software.

1 out of 5 eggsHORRIBLE

Pros: I like this program, I have used it before. It is a good program and does a very good job.

Cons: They customer service stinks!
They sent me software that the numbers did not work on.
Kept making me jump though hoops and then finally just dumped me.
I had to sick new egg on them to get anything done!
New egg was awesome, they got on them and made them fix it or rather fixed if for me.

Other Thoughts: I dont think I will ever buy another product from Cyberlink again.
