CyberLink PowerDVD 12 Standard - OEM

Pros: -Upscales newer DVDs very well
-Media center like hub was a nice attempt
-True Theater
-Worked extremely great with 5.1 emulated surround sound.

Cons: -Integrates their own store and an imdb alternative service (not theirs) into the program. This can become annoying if you just want to load a movie and be done with it, but I can see why they are doing all of this.
-Blu-ray issues?

Other Thoughts: Although I do not use this for blu-ray, I do notice that support for it is iffy with older versions (with a new one every year, this will be an older version very quickly). The market and movie rating integration was a nice attempt, but is very annoying considering there are so many free alternatives out there without the annoying bloat. Not going to lie, I only bought this because it was a $10 shell shocker and I am happy with that, but If I paid $50 for this when it first came out, I would want my $$ back. True Theater is awesome and it upscales standard DVDs like no other program, but I feel like the price is raised because of all of those features that no one really uses.
Overall I love this program and I recommend anyone to grab an older version from the bargain bin whenever they get the chance.

Other Thoughts: I noticed that this item is on sale real cheap. I paid more, but it is worth what I did pay, here at N E. I checked out the video here , and went to u tube and looked at many more videos on this. Only thing is, none of them indicate the level of the program, standard,, etc. The videos were clear about one thing, it requires hit or miss to figure out the options. I admit Im older and slower about this stuff, but Im trying.

Cons: Check out the cyberlink product comparison web site before you buy. This does not support many audio and video formats and does not support blueray playback.

Even with the PRO edition you will have issues playing most blueray disks.

Other Thoughts: This DRM needs to stop or make it where it works for people who purchase content. Software companies like this should make a better effort to get content providers to allow playback. If the software won't play most blueray titles they should be upfront with the customers about it.

Pros: I have the ultra version works great in windows 8 and 7

How can you be so dim as to buy a software that you already have since you said this came with your computer then leave a bad review saying pointless. It's not softwares fault your brainless to purchase it again even though you have it. That's not right to leave bead review when you made the mistake and software is good. That's brainless

Cons: I had this included in my Windows 8 order, so I really didn't need it. It seems like an item they felt was taking up space in a warehouse. So now, I have a new coaster for my drinks
