1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: It was free

Cons: Could never get it to run

Other Thoughts: It came free with Win 8, so I tried to install it and get it running. I feel sorry for anyone who actually paid for this product. I would give 0 egg if there was an option.

3 out of 5 eggsquirky at best

Pros: when it played back a DVD, the quality was good

Cons: Took a while to start the install and let the user know that something is happening. I then cliocked it again and started a second install.
Crashed during install.
The product wanted to do an upsell to another version immediately. Even the update wanted to upsell.
Crashed twice during playback. I put it aside until I have more time to waste.

1 out of 5 eggsUnhappy to say the least

Pros: None

Cons: I bought this because my version of PowerDVD 9 had limited BluRay support and they stopped updating 9.

Other Thoughts: When the description says it supports ALL media formats, the software should support ALL media formats!

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID!!

Pros: Inexpensive.

Cons: Does not, I repeat DOES NOT, support BluRay.

Very cluttered interface.
No option to disable folder monitoring for built in "library".
Cluttered interface with ad banners, upgrade offers, movie advertisements, streaming rentals... even a facebook log-in?... tons of junk I never want to see on my HTPC screen.

Other Thoughts: I bought this misinformed that it would support BluRay.
If you just want DVD player software, then this might be for you.

I wish I hadn't waited so long to install the software as I would have tried to return this garbage.

4 out of 5 eggsNot sure what everyone else was looking for!

Pros: -Upscales newer DVDs very well
-Media center like hub was a nice attempt
-True Theater
-Worked extremely great with 5.1 emulated surround sound.

Cons: -Integrates their own store and an imdb alternative service (not theirs) into the program. This can become annoying if you just want to load a movie and be done with it, but I can see why they are doing all of this.
-Blu-ray issues?

Other Thoughts: Although I do not use this for blu-ray, I do notice that support for it is iffy with older versions (with a new one every year, this will be an older version very quickly). The market and movie rating integration was a nice attempt, but is very annoying considering there are so many free alternatives out there without the annoying bloat. Not going to lie, I only bought this because it was a $10 shell shocker and I am happy with that, but If I paid $50 for this when it first came out, I would want my $$ back. True Theater is awesome and it upscales standard DVDs like no other program, but I feel like the price is raised because of all of those features that no one really uses.
Overall I love this program and I recommend anyone to grab an older version from the bargain bin whenever they get the chance.

3 out of 5 eggsCyberlink PowerDVD 12 standard

Pros: Price

Cons: Some what complicated, confusing, for me, but after practice, its better.

Other Thoughts: I noticed that this item is on sale real cheap. I paid more, but it is worth what I did pay, here at N E. I checked out the video here , and went to u tube and looked at many more videos on this. Only thing is, none of them indicate the level of the program, standard,, etc. The videos were clear about one thing, it requires hit or miss to figure out the options. I admit Im older and slower about this stuff, but Im trying.
