Rating is based on general experience with Cyberlink products, including previous version of this one. Other Thoughts: Since this product claims to do Bluray movies and pretty much everything else that PowerDVD Plus does, it's not clear why anyone would buy the combo of the two products, nor why the combo is initially described as "2 Item Combo includes 1 CYBERLINK Audio & Video Editing,1 CYBERLINK Graphic & Design" rather than the two products pictured and presented when you click the link. I'm baffled why one review totally pans the product but gives 5 eggs. Regarding the complaint that Bluray wouldn't work over d-sub: Bluray requires HDCP compliant display, and HDCP is not supported over d-sub, only over DVI and HDMI. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Cons: You will be forced to upgrade different titles to "Platinum frtom Deluxe" to get full functionality. Example: For $130 the suite dissapoints hen it wants another $40 to upgrade to rip CD's to MP3 files. Also to convert WAV to MP3. This is called "Bait and Switch" Installation package is buggy = 2 hrs to install. Removal = forget it. You will need to reload a full system backup to get rid of it. Other Thoughts: Not a good alternative right now. Roxio doesn't have a trial version of NXT Pro to evaluate now. 2 out of 5 people found this review helpful. Did you? Cons: Would not play BD movies even though I have a ATI radeon HD-5000 series card and Samsung multisync high-res monitor using the d-sub connector. Started to play some movies when I switched to the DVI connectors/cable. Will not burn my HD home movies from Sony HD camcorder on BD disks or AVCHD on DVD disks. Support is problematic at best. Maake sure you download/install their BD advisor to minimize problems. Other Thoughts: My system is a core i3, win 7/64, 8gb ram, 1tb hd, ATI Radeon HD-5000 series with 1gb on board, 650 W power supply, DVD and BD burners, Samsung multisync 1920 x 1200 24" monitor.
