StarCraft Battle Chest

Pros: starcraft has been and will remain one of the best games ever made. the graphics are far behind by todays standards, but you dont need pretty visuals and realistic effects to have a great game.
starcraft has a exellent storyline and deep presence about the game. the voice acting and sound effects are incrediable and well done.
the character voices are very fitting and couldent be any better. the protoss charcter voices are impressive.

Cons: the only cons about this game is it is not supported on windows vista or windows7. and there are less people that play online nowdays.
there are many bugs with starcraft on windows vista and 7 and there is no way to fix them.
it will run on vista and 7 but expect frequent crashes and system lockups.

Other Thoughts: i run starcraft only on xp. with my computer starcraft is unstable on windows 7..
my computer specs, AMD5000+ (2.6ghz dualcore) Asus M2n sli deluxe. 4gb ddr2-800, Nvidia 9600gt,
i learned that starcraft had issues useing two processor cores, so i set affinity to core1 only for starcraft. this made the game more stable but my system would completely lock up, it was random. it could take anywhere from 5minutes to several hours for it to happen. the only way out of it was a hard reset.

Pros: A game with virtually infinite replay value, and the best RTS game ever in my opinion. Your 20 bucks here will keep you entertained for a zillion hours. Will work on just about any hardware you come across since the game is so lite on system resources. I'd say it uses 30MB of memory or so.

Installs right to the hard disk so there is no need to use the CD's in any capacity to play either brood war or regular starcraft. Takes up about 1.2 GB of space and moves seemingly faster than if you were using the CD. Also, this is a genuine starcraft buy with working battle.net serials as the box is unopened.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: I initially bought starcraft for cheaper elsewhere, but the serials were blacklisted and blizzard couldn't help me. This one from newegg is a sure buy.

I'm cool with this one until Starcraft 2 gets cheaper and all the races have missions for them instead of this Terran only wackness

Pros: Terrific game, definitely worth its price. I'm not all that good at it, but I still find myself going back for more.

Cons: Everybody else is much better than me.

Other Thoughts: If you're new to the game, be prepared to spend hours getting wiped across the floor. The game only gets better from there.

3 races to choose from, totally different units, attacks and weaknesses, yet it offers very well balanced gameplay.
There is a reason this games been going strong for 10+ years.

This game will give you endless hours of playability, it just doesn't get old.

Cons: It is not on sale for $10 anymore.
640x480 resolution. Makes units look huge on my 32" lol.

Even at $20, it is a good purchase.

Starcfraft is to RTS, like how CS is to FPS. Yes there are prettier games, yes there are more involved games, but you still play it, and cant stop going back for more.

Pros: Best game of all time. If you look on other websites you can see thousands of other people who really do enjoy this game. Some people say the game is outdated, but hundreds of thousands of players still play this game today! People pay 10$ to go to the movies nowadays, and thats max 3 hours of entertainment. When I bought this game for 30$, I ended up playing well over 5000 games of Starcraft (avg 15 minutes each or so). You will not regret this purchase.

Cons: Your love of Starcraft will prevent you from wanting to buy other games. Since Starcraft I have not bought a single other game. (note: this may be a pro)

Other Thoughts: It was awesome when it came out and it's awesome today. I've been a big fan of Blizzard since the ORIGINAL Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. With respect to socializing computer games, I would consider Starcraft as timeless as Tecmo Bowl, .

Pros: Great game to run on old junk machines. Also great for new year's eve LAN parties.

Cons: It's not free.

Other Thoughts: One of the games that started the LAN party revolution.

Pros: This is the best strategy game of all time. Hands down. I've played it off and on since I was 8. I recently got into it again, and finally decided to buy it this time. I'll never regret it. Battle.net is just plain awesome.

Cons: It took me too long to actually buy this amazing game.

Other Thoughts: Buy It Now! With or without the discount, it's worth every cent to support the game designers.
