He's almost down, but there are only seconds left on the timer. You yell at your group mates to give it their all for one last push, fingers flying across your keyboard. Finally he drops, and your group screams triumphantly: you've beaten the dungeon's best time. You've mastered its Challenge Mode.
  • newegg Pet Battle System For years, your faithful companion pets have followed you on countless adventures. They've provided you with comfort, company, sometimes even with entertainment and hours of fun. The fact remains, heroes love their little companions... and in Mists of Pandaria, they will take the spotlight in a brand-new way.
  • newegg BATTLE TO LEVEL 90 Ascend to new heights of power as you explore the verdant reaches of the Jade Forest, war with the terrible Yaungol on Kun-Lai Summit, and unlock the secrets of the Mogu'shan Vaults.
  • newegg MASTER THE PATH OF THE MONK Learn the mystic powers of the Monk, World of Warcraft's newest playable class. Destroy foes with the Windwalker's devastating attacks, replenish allies with the Mistweaver's spiritual energies, and shrug off enormous damage with the Brewmaster's unyielding strength.
  • newegg UNLEASH PANDAMONIUM Set out as a member of the enigmatic Pandaren - World of Warcraft's first neutral race - and join the ranks of either the Horde or Alliance as you enter the conflict brewing on Pandaria's shores.
  • newegg Bestiary The Virmen are an annoyance with the potential to become a serious problem. Rabbit-like pests with powerful hind legs that send them bounding across terrain, Virmen typically live and scavenge out of sight in caves and burrows. But when the civilized races of Pandaria draw near their warrens, the Virmen are a famine on legs.Virmen are inveterate lurkers, awaiting the opportunity to grab carrion, garbage, or actual food whenever they can. They’ll steal and eat nearly anything, then scurry away, leaving behind overturned tables and ransacked trash piles. The menace of the Virmen is only slightly increased by their propensity to wield stolen daggers (or, failing that, sharpened pieces of bamboo) in both hands. Though most Virmen avoid direct conflict, they are not unwilling to attack others in pursuit of the sustenance that drives their every waking moment.

4 out of 5 eggsEnjoyable

Pros: Wow in it self is very enjoyable every now and then, I wasn't really looking for the Collector's Edition but it was on sale. Coming with everything listed I say it was worth the price up front for it. Pandaria is by far one of best WoW expatiation packs out there.

Cons: Non

3 out of 5 eggsEntertaining at first

Pros: More survivability for solo questing. DPS specs seem to have a reliable self heal for questing. Also seems to be very little downtime, not eating/drinking food after mob pulls (for questing).

LFR - Looking for Raid. It works like Looking for Dungeon, but offers an easier version of current Raids. Easy enough that PuGs can do them.

Redeemable Tokens that give you a bonus roll (another item drop) from a Raid / World Boss.

Purchasing previous arena pvp season gear with honor points.

Trading Honor/Justice points for Justice/Honor points.

Cons: Gear progression grind. I really hated it in this expansion.

They have multiple rep factions, which is nice. However to earn rep from these factions you need to do daily quests for each one of them. This can take hours to do and its such a time waster.

I actually bloated my ilvl using honor purchasable Arena gear to get a high enough rating to do LFRs. Then there are the Raid /World boss drops, most of the drops seem to be "bags of gold" and no items.

Weekly 1000 valor points cap, didn't help gear progression go any faster. Makes spamming heroics meaningless since there are no longer faction rep tabards and item drops being a very low chance (at least for Healing Plate gear). Most valor items require nearly 1600-1800 valor points, so it'll take 2 weeks to unlock just one item.

I grudged through the gear progression right up till unlocking the ilvl required for the last set of LFRs. After that I lost total interest in the game and haven't played at all. My 3 month subscription is going to wasted.

Other Thoughts: I haven't played WoW since early Cata. So some of the things that I mentioned above may not pertain to this expansion. So consider this a review of all the content released after early Cata included into MoP expansion.

I believe if you have a group of people who are really enjoyable to be around, this game might last you a few months. However I really lost interest in playing in a Raiding Guild.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Game

Pros: This is a great expansion with stunning graphics, lots of content, a new and very well engineered class, and tons of things to do! This is one of the best expansions so far imo.

Cons: Guild max level hasn't been increased; still caped at level 25. Pandaria is a bit small and new main city is too small to fit the large amount of players.

4 out of 5 eggsOK Collectors Edition

Pros: Had most of what I expected from the previous expansion collectors editions.

Cons: It did not come with any WoW TCG cards. Both WotLK and Cata came with them.

Other Thoughts: Not bad for the sale price.

3 out of 5 eggsThe Titan's final step.

Pros: More content, more activities, more everything. Quests that aren't "skin 10 and bring it back to me."

Cons: It's 8 years old! The re-balancing Bliz has done is kind of blatant to encourage/force people to use the newer races and classes.

Other Thoughts: The longest running, most successful, and most profitable MMO of all time. And also the 800lb, chain smoking, drunken gorilla that's been sitting your couch kicking "your dog" (any new MMO that tries not to clone it's formula) every time it gets within range.

I'm glad this is the final expansion (hopefully, you never know with Activision/Bliz) of WoW, a series that's needed to bow out gracefully since 2010.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the $20 difference for collectors

Pros: With this package you get everything that comes with the Digital Deluxe expansion (the expansion license, + ingame mount and pet, D3 & SC2 perks), as well as a few RL goodies.

For the $20 difference you're getting a 200+ page art book (not bad for the coffee table when nerdy friends are stopping in), Soundtrack CD with clean audio tracks from the new content (I've mostly been enjoying this ingame, but some good background music for room atmostphere), Behind the Scenes Blu-Ray & DVD (I have NOT watched these yet, so am not commenting on the quality of the content), and a fun Chen Stormstout mouse pad (beautiful artwork, probably won't actually use mine for mousing).

As with the regular physical version, this also comes with the installation DVD, but you don't need this if you're a current player- you just need the code inside added to your B-Net account. Still, handy for installing on a fresh system, or for a friend's trial acct. Pretty box, same size as previous CE's.

Cons: I was a little disappointed to find the contents of this CE somewhat slimmer than previous ones, though the price was just as high. No decks of playing cards or any other goodies not listed on the box. 3 cards with trial codes to give friends, but I'd recommend against using them- far better to use the Refer-A-Friend feature from you B-net account.

The contents are NOT misrepresented- the second pic newegg has up is an accurate representation of what's in the box. I just think there should be more there, to stay closer to on par with previous CE's.

Also, the package contained no energy drinks or sleep substitutes. This can be a challenge considering how enjoyable and engaging a lot of the new content is.

Other Thoughts: There appears to be no distinguishable differences ingame between the CE and the digital deluxe version. Exact same benefits and achievements from what I can see. If you want the mount/pet, but don't care about the RL goodies, get the digital deluxe instead. Even if you don't care about the pet/mount, the other bonuses in this package might be worth the $40 difference between this and the regular expansion, but if you like having the pet and mount, well worth it.

As to the expansion itself- from what I've seen thus far (full starting area as panda monk, first couple of zones in the 85+ content) the expansion has some really beautiful content, and I've enjoyed the story lines and bits of flavor found all over the place. As with WotLK's initial release you can't fly in the new areas till hitting level cap. The Panda starting area is a bit unique as you are separate from both horde and alliance (and able to chat with all the other starter pandas) until the end of the starting zone

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: World of Warcraft is what you make of it, its been like that since Day 1 of Vanilla. If you have never played WoW and you like MMOs, WoW is defiantly one you need to try! So far of MoP I like everything!

Cons: People who call out WoW for being bad, bcuz they are bad or some other random excuse.
