From the very tiniest forms of life to the intergalactic level of existence, you are in control of life itself in this simulation game by Will Wright. Beginning in the primordial ooze, players create a character from DNA that will grow, survive, and mate as it evolves from a single-celled organism to a fully-formed member of an establishing species. As more and more creatures inhabit the world, and as evolution forms the future, your species will join herds, clans, even civilizations. The more advanced the creatures of the planet grow, the more complex the strife of survival becomes. And while the player can continue gameplay in Spore at any level -- playing as a cell, as a wild creature, or as a civilized and organized society – players can also step even further out and play the game from the planetary or interstellar level, while also going online to connect worlds with other gamers.

1 out of 5 eggsfix for DRM problem

Pros: i loved the game and there is a way around the DRM.
i payed for the game when it first came out.
so i am an honest owner.

Cons: the DRM.

the lock that won't allow you to install it forced me to use illegal methods to use a game i am an honest owner of.
and it doesn't stop people from getting around it.
it is a bad idea and i hope it is never repeated.

Other Thoughts: if you look around you will find there is an illegal fix for this DRM problem.
i was forced to use it, and you can use it too.
i will give no more details, but this is a problem that drives honest people like me to use illegal methods to get around something that should not be there in the first place.

4 out of 5 eggsTun o' fun!

Pros: Great game. Brings back the fun value of games where you don't have to get super absorbed in the technical interworkings of everything in the game and you can just enjoy it.

Of course... you can get super absorbed into the technical interworkings of everything... and that's fun too!

Cons: teeny-tiny bug here and there.

1 out of 5 eggsDRM a pain

Pros: The game was fun.

Cons: DRM was a pain! I didn't know about the whole issue with it when I bought it.. Then found out later, but didn't think it would be that big a deal.. well I ran out of my installs and took 4 days to get EA to re-set my install limit.. WHAT A PAIN! If I BOUGHT the game, I should be able to PLAY it WHEN I WANT!

1 out of 5 eggsBoring, boring, boring....

Pros: It's fun for about the first 1 hour

Cons: Over hyped, unintuitive interface, poor graphics, and silly copy protection scheme

Other Thoughts: Had high hopes for this "open ended" game, this title wind up being wanting to be "jack of all trades and ace of none". Each stage of the creature development is simplistic and repetitive, especialy problematic is the 'space" age, as it is very difficult to track where you have been, where your attention is needed, etc, also the customization is rather limited and virtually pointless as all the customization really does little in affecting the game play other than making the creature look different. Overall the game is just plaing BORING.....!! Don't waste your money.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very creative game. Cell, Creature, and Space stages are very fun and unusual. The graphics are decent, and the game runs surprisingly smooth (better than some games that I have that are much older). The various creators are excellent.

Cons: The Tribal and Civilization stages seemed more like chores and filler material than actual gameplay. The game gets old after a time.

Other Thoughts: I can understand why the DRM would be a problem to some, but I personally have had no problems so far (I've only installed it on one computer).

4 out of 5 eggsUnleash your creative side... just don't expect to use your thinker.

Pros: *Very appealing graphics, not cutting edge or anything, but very appealing
*Dizzying amount of things you can create
*Cell, Creature, and Space stages are all a LOT of fun to play
*Very stable and bug free

Cons: *Tribal and Civ stages, quite frankly, suck as there's simply NO depth to it
*Cell, Creature, and Space stages, while a lot of fun, are still very shallow

Other Thoughts: I only have two cons above but seeing as they relate to a third or more of the game, they're pretty big. It's a fun but shallow game and I recommend it to most people for fun but you won't use your brain much while playing. Now on to DRM. From my understanding, it only limits you to 3 SIMULTANEOUS installations and NOT 3 TOTAL installations. Now I'm not sure how hardware upgrades affect it but just to be on the safe side, I guess you could uninstall it before making said upgrades. A hassle, yes, but not game-breaking. I have yet to have any problem whatsoever with any form of DRM in any game so I can't really put it down as a con. I'll admit, I've done some pirating a while ago but have since ceased ALL forms of piracy after seeing just what it was doing to the PC platform so I guess in a way I sort of feel like I'm getting my just deserved with DRM... but that's just my two little cents.

3 out of 5 eggsDRM punished me

Pros: Great game, wish each stage was longer.

Cons: Someone had stolen my key with a keygen before i installed so i had to spend two weeks with EA support getting a new key. All because I didn't steal the game.

Other Thoughts: I am a Will Wright fan, this is a fun game even if the DRM is painful. I only fear that galactic adventures will make it like WoW.
