1 out of 5 eggsNot Sim City

Pros: None

Cons: It disgraces the Sim City Franchise. As others have said, it is like a Sim City sandbox. You get similar gameplay from the old Sim Town. If you want Sim City, go find Sim City 4.
-No need to wire your power plant to the city
-placing buildings one by one is not Sim City, zoning was more fun
-Sims have no need for water
-More like The Sims except on city scale
-Annoying need to unlock buildings
-Terrible soundtrack
-Not as many funny loading messages
-Terrible graphics for its time
-Looses interest very quickly

Other Thoughts: I paid like $40 for this game around early 2008 and was very dissapointed. I wouldn't even buy it for this price. I wouldn't even take it if you paid me to have it

2 out of 5 eggsI hate microsoft

Pros: This is a wonderfully great game. I love playing it.

Cons: PIRACY PROTECTION RUINED IT!! I pirated this ame years ago and loved it. I decided to buy it when I saw how cheap it was. Too bad I couldnt. The protection on the game would require me to uninstall quite a few programs I use. Not gonna happen. Terrible MS!!!

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible "game"

Pros: Nearly free now... Still too expensive.

Cons: Gameplay was non-existent. This game requires no strategy. It's SimCity in sandbox mode. At best, the "game" is sending fire engines to put out fires. The blatant advertising for "green" corporations was truly disgusting. I can't imagine former SimCity devs. not being thoroughly disappointed at this abuse of their franchise.

Other Thoughts: I don't think I've ever been angry at game developers for creating something so terrible before...

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: Well, the game is fun... for a couple hours..

Cons: The game is very repetitive, the different challenges don't really have all that much diversity. The first few hours is fun, but eventually it gets so boring I can't stand it. Your sims need no water, you build 1 power plant that doesn't need cables to power up your city from afar, once you're about 1/4 the way through your city you pretty much just have to speed up the time just to get things done, because you're left with nothing to do but build more office buildings, and more houses, the same ones over and over.

When I got it I read people saying the same thing that I am now, and I told myself it can't be that bad (i'm a patient person who usually takes time exploring and having fun with whatever game i'm playing.) But I just cant believe how boring the game actually is.

Other Thoughts: Save your money, buy Simcity 4 or really anything else. Simcity 4 actually had challenge and more things to do.

2 out of 5 eggsNot great, but it's only 5 bucks now...

Pros: I've had this game for a year and bought it back when it first came out for like 40 or 50 bucks... It has some new concepts, like creating cities with personalities, such as a creative city with a lot of artists and ghosts running around scaring children, or you can make it the technopoly with a city that looks like it's straight out of orwells book...

The price on newegg is currently 5 bucks and you get free shipping, so i would say it's worth the 5 dollars... The game runs smooth, but thats about it...

Cons: It's boring... the game treats me like a 2 yr old and just not a whole lot of fun.

AMD 4200x2
4GB RAM
GTX260
Corsair 850W PSU

3 out of 5 eggsInnovative, but not

Pros: New play style, very innovative

Cons: too complex, the zoning is much easier (Simcity 4) You also loose all the mass trans options except for subways and bus.

No more advisors or statistics

1 out of 5 eggsI LOVED ALL PAST EA RELEASES

Pros: New concepts.

Cons: Boring.

Other Thoughts: I have been an abbid sim player for years, dating back to sim city one, sim farm, and sim tower. I have loved every release overall. Theres no real challenge, its mindless, and EXTREMELY boring.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Sim City 5 ! ! ! ! !

Pros: Nice pretty graphics, if your hardware can handle it. Has an entirely new concept of how to make your city successful. Making your sims happy is more important now than making sure your city infrastructure is sound.

Cons: You could say that for every PRO, there is an equal CON. The pretty graphics are nice but if you have an older system, it will crash constantly, and the performance will be jumpy. The concept of happiness vs. power and water could be a PRO if you are looking for a cross between 'The Sims' and 'Sim City', but if you were looking for the next newest improvement to the Sim City series, this is DEFINITELY A DISAPPOINTMENT ! ! Additonal CONS would be inability to zoom out to view your entire city, limited city space or size (every city is the same size).

Other Thoughts: Take it from someone that has played Sim City since it came out on Nintendo back in the 80's. This was not what I expected, but I would have bought it anyway just to say I did and to check it out. It was fun at first because it was so EASY to play. But within about a week I found myself not really interested in playing anymore because there is nothing to accomplish, really. It is no longer installed on my computer and I have given it as a gift to a friend.

1 out of 5 eggsToo Many Bugs

Pros: Great graphics, decent concepts

Cons: Bugs bugs everywhere. Between crashing and graphic glitches, this game has been a treat.

Other Thoughts: This definitely isn't your normal SimCity and shouldnt even bare the SimCity title. It is SimSocieties.

Stay away pretty much...

3 out of 5 eggsGood concept ----Performance Issues

Pros: Different concept either you will love it or hate it vs old school SimCity. Hundreds of buildings to choose from. Interesting building features and impact on the other buildings. Sounds are top notch and the graphical variety, the little sims and animations are a nice touch. Building towns in different settings (desert, etc..)

Cons: Performance, performance not good. I have 2 x 8800GTs SLI and the frame rate is subpar, less than 30fps(though I run Crysis in High and Ultra High @ 30+fps). Running a Q6600(oc 3.2) and 8GB memory Vista 64bit yet still this runs at a low frame rate independent of resolution. Looks like this would be a programming issue the game relies heavy on CPU and not on GPU/mem. Plus as many games are is entirely single threaded. Shame on those programmers. Perhaps a patch could help, we shall see.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully Spore does not rely on the same programmers....
