5 out of 5 eggsAmazing game

Pros: Amazing and beautiful graphically. Gameplay is as complex as you make it. Once you play the game enough to master the switching from ability to ability you're unstoppable. I love flying through the air using max speed to propel me and and then max strength to launch me...then smashing into an enemy and punching with max strength personally. Much fun. Can't get enough.

Cons: None really. The ppl that complain that this is nothing more than a tech demo are just mad because they can't afford to upgrade enough to enjoy the game. On SLI-8800GTSx2, using a AMD5000+BE/2GB OCZDDR2-800/ASUSM2N32SLI-DLX. Using a single card I run the game at very high(config mod)1440x900 4xaa,all options very high at 25avg 65max fps, min 18.In SLI I get 40avg/80max/24min. Get the hardware or don't knock the game for you own limits.

Other Thoughts: This is a hardware heavy game. Look at the hardware ppl are using in these reviews...an 8600GTS isn't gonna cut it with 256MB of texture memory. You need at least an 8800GT with 512MB of memory to hold all the textures crysis displays constantly. A single 8800GT isn't enough to run the game with any AA. When I ran the same settings with my previous MSI NX8800GT512OC I could only run the game at 1024x768 and still got low fps at this low res, but highest in game options. 18fps average. turn it down to just high settings and its very smooth but you lose the good looks of the lighting and the vegetation looks like paper cut outs. Water detail isn't bad though.
If you want a decent crysis experience then hitch up your pants, run some overtime at work and buy the hardware, because crysis is just the first game in a series of future releases that will be this hardware intensive. And stop whining about it being too much. That's the Gamers life, pay up or shutup.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome graphics, good AI, decent gameplay

Pros: As well all know, this game has amazing graphics and you need an amazing computer to run them maxed out as well.

The AI is pretty good in the game and the ability to shoot out tires and whatnot make the game a lot of fun.

You can also run it on Ultra High in XP by tweaking configuration files. The graphics quality looks every bit as good as Vista, but you get twice the framerate.

Cons: The gameplay itself is really not all that good, just average.

Other Thoughts: Not completely playable maxed out at 1600x1200 on any hardware out there at the moment (even in XP!)

It's playable in XP on Ultra High settings at 1600x1200 (I can even get 4xAA but running the game on high does improve playability a bit.

5 out of 5 eggsEye Candy for your New Computer

Pros: Great game. Google "crysis tweak guide" to find out how to run it best. Even on a great computer I'd recommend running in Directx9 but messing with the cfg files so that it looks about as good as Directx10 but with much better framerate.

Cons: On most computers it looks like every other shooter on the market, or like a pretty slideshow.

5 out of 5 eggsSo worth it

Pros: This game is beautiful! Runs ~20 fps on high @1680x1050 in XP with an 8800GT. There is a mod out there that allows you to run this game more efficiently.

Cons: Needed to drop it to medium to play multi-player without slow downs. (The SP is more fun anyway...)

5 out of 5 eggsoutstanding game.

Pros: Visually impressive game... -nearly everything- is destructable. You can shoot through trees (not 2 or 3 feet thick trees unless you're shooting at them with a tank maybe.. the thin ones) and it will fall down, you can knock over tables and hide behind them, you can throw people off cliffs, look down and watch them fall and laugh at them as they plummet to their deaths, you can use MAXIMUM STRENGTH and get to areas you normally couldn't in other games, you can shoot tires out on people and (rarely) flip their vehicle, you can throw grenades under jeeps / humvees / trucks and blow the entire thing to smithareens to start an ambush in campaign, AND MUCH MORE. I'M NOT UNHAPPY WITH THIS GAME AT ALL.

Cons: No cons! A game that is WAY ahead of it's time... This game put my PC to it's knees on high (the cinematics), but everything else was fine except for the end level.. On medium, -everything- worked fine.
(The below is not a con!!!!!! BE WARNED)

EXPLORE, EXPLORE, EXPLORE. DON'T RUN THROUGH THE GAME- SAVOR THE MOMENT. I beat this game in a week flat, normal, hard, and delta for all three, and I regret it. I'm stupid, because NOW i'm bored of the game.
(i may not have bought crysis from newegg, but I buy other items from them as well. I built my system entirely from parts bought off newegg. Asus M2N-SLI motherboard, AMD DUAL CORE 3.2 GHZ, 3 gigs of ram DDR2 800 G.SKILL, SEAGATE 250gb sata harddrive, XFX 8800 GTS 512 MB video card. my computer can play this EXCELLENTLY ON MEDIUM w / 1280 x 1024 resolution but no higher on either... :[ I was told I should get a physx card because my friend has the same specs as me if not a little bit worse and he can play it excellently on high)

Other Thoughts: Plenty of arguments. Don't complain about cursing in a mature game. If its M for mature, 95% of all games rated like that, and if they don't have cursing, they have WAY worse factors, like adult themes, blood, adult situations, ETC. Grow up. If you're honestly 18+ when yah bought this I would have thought you are at that age where you can start acting like an adult and playing grown up games (grown up being mature).

Now, I bought this game (non collector) back in november of 2007. I had a few issues with the game when I played in campaign, like enemy land vehicles flying.
Also, don't buy this game before checking the requirements. SERIOUSLY.
For a good link on how to find out where the system requirements are located:

If you go and buy something without checking the system requirements and matching those up with your specs, you don't deserve to give a bad rating. You're just making a good game look worse because of YOUR mess

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: A must-have if you're into benchmarking
Excellent graphics
Physics are really fun to toy around with

Cons: Can't really play it at the highest settings, although it's fun to try sometimes

Other Thoughts: Runs better than you'd expect with lower end hardware. I can play very smoothly - 20 to 40 fps - on my system. I have a C2D E6400 2.13GHz, 7900GS, and 3GB DDR2.

1 out of 5 eggsTakes me back to the days of pain

Pros: All the hype.

Cons: Does not even run on my EVGA motherboad. PITA.

Other Thoughts: Crysis is an immature game still under development. Wait a few months and save yourself some agony.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great graphics. Will stress about any graphics card out there right now.

I run it with the very high on dx9 mod and it works great on my 8800 GT.

Cons: Tech demo pretty much.
Not much in storyline.
More often than not the AI are just plain stupid compared to older games.
