1 out of 5 eggsBuggy

Pros: Fun when it works.

Cons: Game has issues operating as expected for software. See "other notes".

Other Thoughts: Installed game and played for a few weekends. Game will no longer launch. Emailing support is not a good idea as is is slow! Had to uninstall to try to fix but had to download RevoUninstaller to do this. Apparently, the uninstall with the game is insufficient... When reinstalling, I had to download the game again since I do not have a disk. Support refused to send me a physical disk to avoid downloading in the future... Get this game if you are fine with losing games you've worked on, if you enjoy troubleshooting software, and you generally don't mind uninstalling, downloading, and reinstalling the game.

3 out of 5 eggsit's okay...

Pros: Newest edition,
More customizable characters than the sims2,
keeps the whole town loaded on my machine instead of just my house so I can see my neighbors,
I got my copy for $11 off of a steam deal

Cons: 1) They show you items that you can only get paying ACTUAL MONEY for, it's like I already paid for the game, atleast let me feel like you gave me the whole game...
2) They have like what? 10 expansions out now? They really try to squeeze every penny out of their players >.<
3) They try to have an online implementation somehow, like I don't even know how to get this game online and would prefer it to be offline personally...
4)they have a message inbox where the computer spams you the whole game like "You burnt your omelet!" every time anything happens in the game... I wish I could spam the delete all messages button but I can only delete them individually...

3 out of 5 eggsIts ok

Pros: It is the newest version.

Cons: It has disappointing graphics, call me crazy but I enjoyed Sims 2 graphics and game play more. Then again I didn't play this game all to much.

Other Thoughts: I got this for my gf.

4 out of 5 eggsThe Sims 3, Future Forward or Backward?

Pros: The lighting and shadow is good, although I find it takes way too many windows to light a house up with natural daylight (even when that wing is facing the sun). It takes lights on during daytime to add the natural flair (not a good message for energy conservation there, EA). In The Sims 2, upon adding a window, the three or four tiles on the floor would light up and then diffuse like a gradient. In The Sims 3, the same size window will light up just one tile. It's really irrational, although the lighting and the shadows on objects adds a touch of reality.

The neighborhood screen is pretty cute. It looks like how a real neighborhood should look, and is not neat and linear like the layout of Pleasantview and other neighborhoods in The Sims 2. Navigating around isn't bad at all. Although I find that a car isn't necessary because sims automatically summon a cab, pretty instantly too, to go to community lots or other lots that aren't exactly across the street. The labelling of various

Cons: Create-A-Sim: I know lately The Sims 3 has been bashed upon despite the big hype that had built up before its release. But I think in this case, EA really pushed it. The very essence of creating a sim is not in the same spirit as in The Sims 2. For instance, yes the sims look very doll-like/plastic/fake/rubbery, whatever you might want to call it, but diving into the game I found out why.

Certain sliders that control some of the facial features are missing. This morning, it hit me that the "change length" slider for eyebrows was absent along with eyebrow thickness/thinness. So this forces us to use the eyebrow presets which look kinda... odd and very extreme. They're either too long or too thick or too angular. The slider that controls the arches are non-existent as well. Also, it's really hard for sims to have a chin, especially the male ones (I like my sims to be really manly). I find it especially hard to create male sims, that live up to being male, that is. The soft cartoony c

Other Thoughts: The Sims 3 defeated the very purpose on why it was created. This is definitely not a replacement for The Sims 2, but rather is from another perspective. A more "what-if" version featuring the things that the previous sims series did not have. However, EA took a lot of things that the sims fan-based community did not want, but it also failed to push the things that we did like. I'm sure EA's classic compromise for this will be Expansion Packs which are going to be its cashcow, but it will certainly improve the game. Right now, The Sims 3 feels empty because we have been spoiled by The Sims 2--although they have given us enough to keep us waiting for the next EP, but future add-ons might better this game.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Sims Game

Pros: It was fun for awhile.

Cons: Gets boring. I find many other games that keep my attention better than the Sims 3.

Other Thoughts: Starcraft 2 anyone?

1 out of 5 eggsnot very good

Pros: Improved over the previous version

Cons: lousy graphics, repetitive game play, so-so sound and music

Other Thoughts: I know this is bever a game shines on graphics or music; but I still could not hlelp to say it. I guess this has never been my type of game.

4 out of 5 eggsI like it!

Pros: It's fun playing an alternative life, where I wish how things went in real life. It's a lot of fun to build and style apartments as well.

Waiting for a better expansion pack than the world adventure one, one that fits my likings. I hope it's go into further detail with the university one or a business one.

Cons: It can repetitive after awhile. It reminds of what I gotta do in real life, like go to the bathroom or do the dishes, because when you're playing this you forget about all those things.

I wish they'd release an expansion pack that evaluates and go further into what you can do with your "job". There is stuff you can do with your job outside of the workplace itself, like doing little things at home that your boss asked you. But it'd be nice to spend that 9:00 to 5:00 shift, being able to choose how you work, what you do, and how you spend your time there. Like going to the meetings and and actually "coming with up with a new line of action" sort of thing. Of course as an option and it was up to the player whether they do.

The expansion pack and stuff pack are expensive, but without them you are limited to what you can have in your apartment or life. I'll wait for the pack that has multiple stuff in it.

Other Thoughts: I played the Sims 2 on prior to buying this. My GF had it, so. So I guess I don't have the experience other Sims players have. So it's hard for me to compare. Although it's easier to tell a lot of things has more efficiency.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat present for Christmas

Pros: Great price and free shipping. I am not the recipient of this. I bought it as a gift for my son.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The main reason I am writing this is because I got free eggsaver shipping. I dreaded this because in the past it has taken a very long time for DHL and the mail to deliver in to central Florida for some reason. This time DHL turned it over to the postal service right here in Orlando rather than in Hollywood, Florida as they had in the past. My shipping was very fast this time. I can't really complain too much when the shipping is free but I do appreciate the timely fashion I got this time.

3 out of 5 eggsMore of the same

Pros: There is enough new content, especially the neighborhood aspect, to interest fans of the prior games.

Cons: It really is the same game warmed over. They have done a lot to make keeping the bars filled less annoying, but at the end of it all this is still about keeping sims happy and bars full.

Other Thoughts: I would not have played after the first week except my kids like to watch and I won't let them play alone.
