4 out of 5 eggsGood RPG

Pros: Very good RPG. Lots of choices, random encounters are fun. Many levels of difficulty. There is a lot of good content in this game. Adding party interactions to the mix makes the game different than others I have played.

Cons: Once you get used to the controls the game does get a bit too easy, although the big battles are still very challenging. If you become bored you can adjust the difficulty level, which is a nice feature.

Other Thoughts: I have recommended this game to all my friends, even those who are not hard core gamers because it has so much variety. The ability to pause before combat makes it easier to get a handle on what you are doing if you are a new player. My mother, who is in her 60's and hates the computer, played through one of the intros and had a lot of fun wandering around the castle, talking to people and picking up books.... go figure.

4 out of 5 eggsGame is too easy if you are a decent gamer.

Pros: This is a great game. Amazing story, voice acting, some interesting characters. Some of the fights are very challenging, although they nerfed the most interesting ones in patches deeming them too hard for an average gamer I suppose. Bioware rules at making rpgs.

Cons: Game gets too easy later one if you know what you are doing. I played it with some mods designed to make gameplay much harder. Problem with bioware is they don't tailor their highest difficulty settings to people who are above average at gaming.

Other Thoughts: Get ready to investigate some mods if you want to take full advantage of the game.

5 out of 5 eggsWell Worth It

Pros: One of the best, if not the best, RPGs I have ever played. The voice acting and plot are what this game is all about. The gameplay is fun enough, but it is a pretty typical RPG when you are just talking about the combat and character-building elements. Graphics are vivid and detailed. But the characters and the story are what drive this game, and make you want to keep playing. Also the beginning of the game is different depending on the background of the character you create, which was a cool touch.

Cons: I would have liked this game more if it had hack and slash style combat (like Gothic) where the player has to attack for the character, instead of a point-and-click combat, but that's just my preference and the game does not suffer at all from it. Most RPGers probably prefer this point-and-click style of combat.

Other Thoughts: If you like RPGs you will love this game, no question about it. The new Bioware RPGs (Dragon Age and Mass Effect) are some of the most engaging and detailed games I have ever played. I give high marks to Bioware for finding the best voice actors to play each part. Too many RPGs I have played recently have flat characters with terrible voice-overs with no personality. The story is very mature and probably not suitable for youngsters, but for adult gamers you could not ask for better.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: good graphics I guess, necessary ability to pause during combat, ability to make dialog choices

Cons: ridiculous battles, find the spot on the battle map where you can actually win, group of people with viewpoints so opposing that it is unbelievable they would travel together, make the right dialog choices or pretty much nerf your game, no travel at all except on tiny battle maps,

Other Thoughts: I struggled to play this game even halfway through. I wish I had quit sooner. I wish I had not wasted $30 at all. I warned a friend about the game but he tried some kind of free trial anyway. He uninstalled after about 6 hours of play.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Copy protection isn't annoying. Game play and story are immersing , though dialog isn't in the medieval style - I distinctly remember hearing "Epic Fail!" in a battle and that took away from the experience of that battle significantly. It is roughly thirty dollars now, making it fairly cheap and I think a good deal for the amount of playtime.

Combat is WOW-esque, but still, the tactics setup and 4 player control makes it different enough, and plenty entertaining. I felt some parts of the game (Orzammar in particular) were grinding, but overall there wasn't too much of that, and I liked the wide variety of choices you could put for characters.

Cons: Short. I bought it last week on Thursday, was done on Tuesday. Play time was 39 hours using The Stone Prisoner expansion.

Other Thoughts: Time to get Witch Hunt and Leliana's song!

Get the DVD copy and not the downloadable copy unless if you're getting the Digital Deluxe edition - it has the Blood Dragon Armor and The Stone Prisoner in the case, the latter being the most expensive DLC, and was originally supposed to be part of the game.

5 out of 5 eggswow

Pros: this game is... so much more awesome then I though it would be. I was like, meh my friends play it... but it's in the top teir, oblivian quality++ of mideval rpgs. It is NOT easy. You have to be organized, not a hack n slash, hold your hand type of game..

Cons: I have lost so much Starcrat 2 beta time ><

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fantasy RPG (and ive played a few!)

Pros: Excellent Storyline, as soon as things seemed to get a bit stale then something crazy would happen and the game would draw me back in. Gameplay was fantastic, very interesting spells and melee abilities. Graphics were above average. This is the best fantasy RPG that I have played since Baldur's Gate II and I would call it better than Neverwinter Nights.

Cons: AI is much improved since the BGII and NWN days, but still could be a touch better. The influences from WOW's gameplay are obvious, but they dont really take away from the game, if anything this game builds on Wow's strengths. Pathfinding is much better then BGII but I still got frustrated with it on occasion.

Other Thoughts: This game completely became my life for a solid month. Don't play it unless you are ready to invest the time because if you like RPG's you will get sucked in for at least several weeks!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good but not spectacular graphics, great gameplay, interesting story, longer than most games

Cons: Some parts get boring or tedious, but not enough to detract from the game

Other Thoughts: I played through the game once in 44 hours and change, on my laptop. I turned down all the graphics settings and the resolution, but I never experienced slowdowns playing at these settings, so I may have gone overly conservative. My laptop has a 2.5Ghz Core 2 Duo with an nVidia Quadro 570M, and I played at 1366x768.
