Fun game but all I hoped for.
- Pros: * Great story.
* Great graphics.
* Variety of ways to start a character, not a single entry point.
* Mabari War Hounds are fun.
* Toolset for building your own adventures and custom content.
- Cons: * Lack of a healer, lots of crowd control, or ranged damage can make the game really hard above easy mode.
* When zoomed in closer you sometimes can't click to move through tight areas. Walls and things tend to block movement clicking and target selection.
* In game salesman pitching premium content as quests during game play.
* Lack of multiplayer kills the replay factor for me since you can't get online and play with others in standard game or custom content.
* Toolset tied to an installation of MS SQLServer Express.
* Installing custom content doesn't look to be very intuitive outside of using their online store. It is possible but not nearly as simple as using their pay system.
- Other Thoughts: While it's a great game, I doubt I'll play it much after the original campaign is done. No online play and a lack of an out of the box working toolset that just works kinda kills it for me.
Finally, a good single player RPG
- Pros: What an awesome game! The story line is very enticing and makes you not want to stop playing. The character creation is classical and you cannot go wrong with any class. The graphics and blood (optional) are beautiful and goes very well with the soundtrack. The battle system is quite good and the creativity of the enemies and monsters is high.
- Cons: Loading times sucked! There was no "respeccing" your abilities without a third-party mod (which I used). I also thought the game was too short. No random encounters! I really enjoy the battle system and it's too bad there's a limited number of fights in the game! Prevents "overleveling" I guess but they should have included an arena type system so you can just encounter fights. The melee positioning (I played a rogue) was a bit... slow. All these add up to a loss of an egg.
- Other Thoughts: The description of the abilities are slightly lacking so planning or digging for a good character build is tough. Most people would find this a con, I personally find character building very fun. There's a TON of side quests you can do, but the ones I did weren't that great. I suggest playing a rogue or mage because there's 3 warriors in game, but only 2 rogues and 2 mages you can recruit.
Great Game
- Pros: Good graphics, good gameplay and great storyline. Character interaction with NPC's in group is blast to listen to.
- Cons: The story can be a bit much for some if you are not into reading the dialogue and choosing responses. I don't mind because the story is top notch.
