Left 4 Dead 2 PC Game

New Friends. More Zombies. Better Apocalypse.

Set in the zombie apocalypse, Left 4 Dead 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning Left 4 Dead, the #1 co-op game of 2008.

This co-operative action horror FPS takes you and your friends through the cities, swamps and cemeteries of the Deep South, from Savannah to New Orleans - across five expansive campaigns.

You’ll play as one of four new survivors armed with a wide and devastating array of classic and upgraded weapons. In addition to firearms, you’ll also get a chance to take out some aggression on the infected with a variety of carnage-creating weapons, from chainsaws to axes and even a deadly frying pan.

You’ll be putting these weapons to the test against  three horrific and formidable new Special Infected (or against your friends, playing in Versus mode). You’ll also encounter five new “uncommon” common infected, including the terrifying Mudmen.

Helping to take L4D’s frantic, action-packed gameplay to the next level is AI Director 2.0. This improved Director has the ability to procedurally change the weather you’ll fight through and the pathways you’ll take, in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match your performance. L4D2 promises a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience every time the game is played, custom-fit to your style of play.

4 out of 5 eggsFun Shooter

Pros: Good Shooter with long and challenging levels. No matter how many times you play, nothing happens in the same order.

Cons: Limited number of missions.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The gameplay is great, and fun. More complex games can sometimes get dull or just downright frustrating. That's why this game is great. You don't have to buy this or exchange that or walk around trying to figure out what to do next. You just kill the zombies which is a whole lot of fun. I personally like the online co-op. Yes there can be a variance in skill level but it requires teamwork that few other games can match, which in my opinion makes it fun.

Cons: Repetitive. This game is extremely repetitive. Every stage of every level of every game is basically the same. Hordes of zombies keep coming at you over and over again. Aside from the special zombies, of which there could be more variety, most every zombie looks and behaves in basically the same exact way. Even the levels all look alike. They all involve some sort of boat dock, swamp, or a building. All of this repetition really hurts this game. The guns themselves work fairly well, but there's little variety. It's basically assault rifle, sniper, shotgun, or pistol, most of which can't be zoomed in or modified much. One final con is the graphics. They look pretty outdated compared to modern pc games. They aren't horrible, but they are likely held back by the relatively weak xbox 360, as this game doesn't appear to have been improved at all when modified for the pc.

Other Thoughts: Despite all of the cons this game is still great fun and I'm glad I have it.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome game

Pros: I don't know how anyone could give this game less than 5 eggs.
- Constant Zombie Action
- Fun Multiplayer, yes there are some jerks once and a while, but that's life.
- Great Graphics
- No Technical Issues
- ADDICTING
- Can vote to start game if "leader" is idle.
- If players are idle during the game, Computer will play for them until they return.
- Can votekick jerks with majority vote.
- Many different game modes which seem to be updated often.
- They add some new maps once in a while.

Cons: Players should play according to their level and not try to be a tough guy (easy, normal, hard, expert). But that's what votekick is for, another pro :)

Other Thoughts: GET IT

3 out of 5 eggsNiper

Pros: -Lots of fun with your friends

-Its nice to take the side of the zombies.

-actually takes teamwork to succeed in all of the game modes

-Nice and balanced gameplay

-the almost constant updates and the addition of player made skins and models is nice.

Cons: -Pubbing(just playing random servers) isn't always fun. you get stuck with people who don't even know the controls and are confused by the game all the time.

-Versus is mostly ganna go 2 way. either dominate and the other team rage quits before the match is over. or you get dominated and your team leaves you.

Other Thoughts: its still fun and definitely worth the 20 dollars.

Steam is a big issue for most since you never actually "own" the game. you are really just purchasing privileges to use the game. Steam has its own Pros and Cons but it doesn't have to do with the game so no point in adding it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat game

Pros: Activates on Steam without a hitch. I keep all my games on Steam, and have downloaded it from the internet multiple times.

The gameplay is awesome, and versus is a lot of fun to play as infected.

Cons: If you don't like Steam, that'd be a con. I personally really like it though

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Game too bad it requires steam and a huge download

Pros: It really is a great Game. Marred only by the Cons.

Cons: Can only be installed and played through the steam client. You buy the disc to install and have the media for futrue use. Developers have gotten lazy and now use Steam as their catch all delveiry and copyright protection system. Once you buy this disc you can never resell it, reinstall it elsewhere unless that is your own Steam terminal or do anything you should have the rights to do with media you purchased.

Other Thoughts: Steam in and of itself is not a bad thing. THe ability to buy games through tem and they keep the registrations and you always can reinstall is a good idea. However I did not buy this through Steam and would like to use it on multiple machines. Not at the same time but Steam will not allow this.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat game...very addictive

Pros: This is a very fun first person shooter game that provides for many, many hours of online game play.

Cons: Although I knew ahead of time, I don't really like the Steam requirement of playing the game. I encountered an error 1305 stating that it could not locate a file needed to install Steam on the disc, but I was able to easily find it. To get around the error, I went to the Steam site and downloaded the client which allowed me to install the game without getting the error.

Other Thoughts: I understand the need for Steam to help in preventing piracy and keeping great games like these affordable, but the requirement to keep logged into Steam while playing a game doesn't sit to well with me and thus the 4 eggs on this review. If you don't mind dealing with the Steam aspect, the game is very fun.

4 out of 5 eggsAddictive, great layout, bad mp implimentation

Pros: Complex maps, well balanced infected squad, and really creepy theme (sound and visuals). Very addictive, especially while getting teamwork going and actually getting things right...makes ya cackle!

It's heavily class oriented and forces teamwork more than TFC/TF2.

Cons: The AI in MP are downright "dumb". If you get hit by an infected, your AI team will literally stare at you dieing. They also stay too far back and will shoot you far too much. HalfLife OP4 had better AI over 10 years ago!

As JiFcorn states, there's jackwagons in VS mode online. If you don't play their way, you're kicked. Find another server, same thing. It's a pub server/lobby and should have more validation for kicking players. No other Valve game is this ridiculous when it comes to this. Find random players that want to have a great time, add them, and stick with them!

No server selection. You pick your mode, roll the dice, and hopefully land on a good game.

Other Thoughts: The GF makes me put on headphones instead of blasting the Klipsch like I want too. The screams and music just give her nightmares. Kinda cool though ;)

Run the campaign mode in MP and work up to Versus. Get a mic working and use it (P2T please!). Latch on to someone that knows the map and your class "chores" and is willing to do so, and it gets better and better.

Work around the Versus MP stuff and it's overly addictive. Five stars if they fix the kicking issues. (I've written several times suggesting guidelines for valid kick-voting with lame replies about team balancing. Huh?)

4 out of 5 eggsAddicting

Pros: Multiplayer campaign is great if you have friends or not.
The versus is fun too but you have a lot of people who flame at others if you aren't perfect or downright rude.
A suggestion would be to have or find friends online who play that are mature.

Cons: Versus mode has a lot of smacktards who forget that this is a game and is supposed to be about having fun.
Too bad you can't have auto kick on flamers.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy the original LFD,this is better.
