4 out of 5 eggsFun game

Pros: Fun game.

Cons: It ended?

Other Thoughts: I got the game a while after it had been out at a heavily discounted rate. It was fun. I imagine that most of the problems people complained about at the games release have been resolved as I encountered none.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Game + ID Tech 5

Pros: This is a great 15hr game with a 10 minute poor ending. It has beautiful surroundings, great AI, tight shooting mechanics, fun characters for the most part, interesting environments.
Comes with ID Tech 5 which is nice, yet complicated.

Cons: Ending... Really??? Should we put in a good ending, or go out for lunch? Lunch it was??? But the rest of the game was good.
Driving is fun yet seems to be a bit of a waste.
Some missions seem tacked on.

Other Thoughts: I really enjoy this game and the DLC. The bonus of the huge ID Tech 5 is pretty awesome, even as a giant download. I mean GIANT download.
It was accepted into steam with no issues.
Enjoy the game for all the fun, and dismiss the ending. They should have spent the extra time on making it better.

1 out of 5 eggsWell It looks nice...

Pros: +Looks Nice
+Doesn't require Windows Login
+Registers on Steam

Cons: -Buggy
-Not Fun
-Silly
-Terrible
-Repetitive

I think the worst part is if they just strung together the missions(the part where you shoot people) and took out the overworld where nothing happens and talking to people it would have just been bad and not terrible.
And I shot someone in town, blood gushed forth but nothing happened. You cant harm the townspeople and they don't care what you do. I thought something cool would happen.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why critics gave this game a mediocre to good score. Looking on metacritic, customers hated the game, and I should have trusted them.

2 out of 5 eggsDone to Death

Pros: Great graphics
Controls are default FPS-style

Cons: Poor voice acting
Awful driving and shooting control
Stale storyline and setting

Other Thoughts: This game was free after rebate and it still feels like a rip-off. Gone is the simplicity and directness of previous id franchises, replaced by popular, sell-out character and storyline development. Controls are muddy, enemies are stale caricatures, voice acting and plot are cookie-cutter... I feel no attachment to this game like I do with Fallout, Mass Effect, Crysis, Dead Space, and other pop-culture gaming staples. In an effort to sell more copies, id bowed down to teeny-bopper, Xbox and PSP gamers and sold out on their brand of grim and hardened gameplay that made them a household name so many years ago. Like BlackBerry, Sega, and Palm, this last-ditch effort to regain some consumer confidence is an exemplary failure.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent shooter

Pros: *Fun gameplay that combines FPS and racing elements.
*Graphics are decent if a bit unorthodox.
*The RPG stuff is ok, but definitely not the focus and not exemplary. *Overall length of game is fine, by the time one gets to the ending the gameplay is getting stale.

Cons: *Unusual and new soft tech has led some people to having difficulties getting the game to run properly.
*The ending is clearly a rush job and anti-climactic.

Other Thoughts: Overhyped and then critiqued all to hell, this game is actually somewhere in the middle of those two extremes. Not sure about this mega-texture tech, although I was using twin SSDs in RAID 0, so streaming from the array was almost as fast as from system memory. My twin OC'd 8800GTXs can still play this game on nearly maxed settings, although only having a dual-core@3.33Ghz seemed to hurt a little.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work properly.

Pros: Unknown.

Cons: Does not work properly, when running on a quad core 3.3 GZ i2500k pentium with 4 GB ram and a 1 GB Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 6670, nothing but artifacts.

Updated to latest version of catalyst drivers 13.1, artifacts are gone but so are the textures of the sky, ground and walls.

DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Might be worth playing on a PS3 or XBOX.

Other Thoughts: Very, very disappointed, the developers need to patch this game asap.

4 out of 5 eggsFun game

Pros: *Fun
*Decent mechanics
*Easy controls
*Cheap

Cons: *Very linear story for an "open world" game

Other Thoughts: This is a fun game that, when purchased at a low price, can offer hours of enjoyment but isn't too serious.

3 out of 5 eggsRage-Falling Short

Pros: Fun gameplay, fun guns, mildly interesting story, cool setting and awesome arcade/TV show minigames to enjoy.

Cons: Repetitive enemies, limited level design, bland color pallet, less than exciting ending.

Other Thoughts: Was fun for a while, then it got boring. Don't get me wrong, there are moments in this game that really "wowed" me, but in the end, I just felt like I had accomplished nothing, and that all the story build up was kinda pointless.
I did however, love the time that I spend driving around, winning races and grabbing money to upgrade both my guns and car.
The weapons and cars you get are where this game really shines, in my opinion.
