5 out of 5 eggsWoah.

Pros: I played through the first Dead Space (A must for anyone even considering this game) and enjoyed it. I read reviews on the sequel and was skeptical about buying it, worried it would be extremely repetitive and not as scary. Well, let me tell you that this game was a treat to play. All of the things that were messed up in the first have been fixed, there are new enemies to scare the living &%#@ out of you, and new weapons to play with. Yes, this game scared me just as much as the first. The story is good. Not the best, but it keeps you hooked. The voice acting is great and a huge improvement from the first.
I got the game on Wednesday and beat it yesterday (Friday). That doesn't mean it was that short, it just means I was addicted :P
Also, the new suits look absolutely SICK.

Cons: It's over already! I need more Dead Space....

Other Thoughts: To get the most of this game, you need to play it in a DARK room with loud speakers or headphones on. Preferably alone. It will scare you, I promise you.

5 out of 5 eggsRad.

Pros: Fun:Cost ratio. Well worth it.

Cons: There aren't enough hours left in the evenings after doing 'life' with which to play this and other great games.

Other Thoughts: I decided to give Dead Space 2 a shot based on the combination of positive reviews and low price, and was pleasantly surprised. Everyone told me, "It made me jump!" I had to see if it made me jump too. For about 6 bucks, this was a nice addition to my library. For $20 I wouldn't have been disappointed, but I tend to wait for deals and snag games on the cheap.

5 out of 5 eggsA sequel that's better than the first!

Pros: Another great DS game, but this time with better controls. Isaac moves and turns more quickly than before making the gameplay smoother than before. Graphics seem a little brighter and less detailed, but framerate seems better. For $7, it's a steal. But get DS1 and play it first!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: DS was a difficult game to get into. I bought it as a Value Game last year & was discouraged by the slow and imprecise controls, and the lack of ammo (this is NOT an FPS). Plus, the shadows and Necromorph attacks from all directions freaked me out (see diaper comments from others). So, it sat on the shelf until I gave it another try last month, this time on the Easy setting. I couldn't stop playing!
Once I understood how to conserve ammo and aim for limbs, it was easy to get into this game. The story is interesting with many plot twists. At the end, it felt complete. Definitely worth the $ for the PC.

One last note. Unlike the first game, DS2 does not include any poorly executed "turret" missions (which are almost impossible to win with a joystick; that's why the PC version is best)

5 out of 5 eggsEpic

Pros: Excellent scares, I like the psychological angles the game exploits inside Issac's head.

Cons: Some of the nostalgia and indie game feel may have been lost in the sequel, Dead Space 1 will always be a better game in my mind.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away!

Pros: NONE

Cons: Takes 20 minutes to load the first level, possibly all levels on a machine with a RAID setup. However since the game drops me through the floor 10 secs into the first level, and stops excepting input, I really wouldn't know.

MOO was less buggy. Should have left the PC version canceled!
