5 out of 5 eggsMy kind of RPG

Pros: -- If you have played the first one, kind of like with the Mass Effect series, it will sync up with the choices you made.

-- Graphics are decent. Spell effects look decent.

-- I like variety in choices. You can be a saint or a jerk.

Cons: I do not particularly like the controls. In fact, after a few hours of play, I am still trying to get used to the way combat works. Though I must say, it is a lot easier to control than other games, like the first Witcher game and it's mouse controls.

Other Thoughts: Dragon Age 2 stayed true to it's roots. It truly feels like it is expanding from the first game. It doesn't feel like a random "sell the name to get people to buy it" release like the route some other game series went.

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy This!

Pros: The high gore splatter in the fight scenes is nice. You get a choice between Male & Female. You can alter the facial features a little for both genders but that is really all you get to play with regarding the actual building of your character.

Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE! I purchased this game as the special limited edition for $60. I ran through the game twice in a matter of only two weeks of non-dedicated evening game play. Also please know that I am not a gamer. I was just looking for a RPG that I could lose my mind in after a grueling day at the office. I even downloaded additional quests from the website in an attempt to lengthen the game play. Then IF the additional quests worked they only added about 10 minutes to the time. The whole game is a direct run through from point A to B no true side quests to just have some fun playing on your way to the end. Just a large waste of 60 bucks in the end. I've played games for over two months that only spent $10 on and enjoyed much more.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! DON"T EVEN BORROW IT FROM SOMEONE!

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: Its somewhat good looking even today.

Cons: Compared to the original (Dragon age Origins) this game really falls on its face.
The limited character creation and mass effect style dialog really kills it for me.

Everything and everyone always seems to be pushed on you, I never felt any real connection to the other characters of the PC.

I often felt that quests hold no meaning, asking questions to my self such as, Why should I care? and Why should I do this?

Its way more action than RPG, might be good for some people though.

5 out of 5 eggsmy favorite game

Pros: some of the very best Dx11 graphics today. just looks very amazing and performs well on any quad core cpu, scalles powerfull GPU's at very good rate even scales in quad CF/sli unlike 95% of all games.
one of the funnest games i have ever played , very halarius conversations and comments, tons of items and good dlc's very excellent customized combat system.
I purchased this retail , had to comment on this game, to give it some justice.

Cons: I love everything about this game, but the few maps that crash and say display driver is not responding, which is problem on both amd/nvidia and there is no fix for it.

Other Thoughts: phenom II 965 4ghz , ATI 5850 935/1225. 128GB SSD,ripjaws 1600 ,CL 7.8.7.24. can't wait for DAIII, i hope it's as good as these last two.

3 out of 5 eggsMixed Feelings

Pros: Solid game. Decent graphics. Easy enough gameplay/controls. The story (despite what many may say) is actually interesting, although I agree with the lack of fluidity. It's more like 3 separate stories with some common ground. I replayed quite a few times and got a solid 15-20 hours on each play through. I have a love hate relationship with the leveling system. I DO like the change in the appearances of characters (more effort was put into the qunari by far, and I love that about it). Also, they finally do mages some awesome justice by making their standard attack flashy and cool. Rogues can bounce around it's pretty awesome. I feel like aesthetically they covered much better ground in terms of graphics and motion.

Cons: Now...the cons. The game does not go into each character quite as much as the first one did, and gift giving is all but eliminated. I DO like the interesting system of giving each character two specific gifts that you have to find, but meh, I would have liked more character interaction. Don't get me wrong, the characters actually are interesting and fun, but idk. Something was missing I couldn't quite put my finger on. The controls were easy enough, but I didn't like them. I also didn't like the changes to some of the abilities, like the one where you rain fire. I thought they made it kind of cheap and limited. I liked the whole fire storm thing. Also, as interesting as the story is, it is nowhere near as great as the story for DAO and DAA (I guess the lack of real fluidity kind of killed it for me). I think the biggest disappointment/annoyance to me was the lack of places to go and the constant recycling of dungeons and caves.

Other Thoughts: I actually really liked the game but I gave it 3 stars because a) it did not compare to DAO really. Graphically it's better, but really it falls short in the other areas. I feel like they developed far more unique characters for DAO than DA2, and b) I swear I must have walked past the same skeleton in the same spot by the same rocks by the same stairs a billion times while exploring a "new" cave or dungeon. I kinda get the practicality for it, but in all reality, I think it was laziness to do that. Like. Come on. At first it was kind of interesting to explore new parts of the cave. But EVERY warehouse, cave, dungeon. They had like 5 templates total. That was probably the game killer for me to be honest. I understand it's work to create as expansive a world as DAO did. But this was a complete letdown in comparison. In my opinion, this game is really only fun if you accept the lack of unique scenery and are willing to work with basically seeing the same things over and over and over.

2 out of 5 eggsBioware's Worst Game

Pros: The graphics are pretty good looking, although going into directx11 mode destroys my framerate on my desktop (radeon hd5770, 3.0ghz core 2 duo, 4gb of ram). The combat seems smoother and faster than the origins but read my cons about that.

Voice acting is pretty good.

Cons: The pc version has a gamestopping bug that if you don't patch could ruin a perfectly good save (this of course is about 1 to 2 hours in...

The combat I said was faster paced, but it's too easy and dumbed down. Just like the story! you don't get to know your companions as well as you did in origins or any other bioware game, and it makes me care less since I don't know anything about them.

The main story is very anticlimactic and there are way too many fetch quests that involving the same area.

you spend most/all of your time in one city.

Do yourself a favor and replay origins, or buy mass effect 2. or save the twenty bucks and use it towards SWTOR! Played beta and it WILL be worth the wait!

My laptop (with a radeon HD4330) can play origins on medium just fine, but it can't even handle this on low. and the graphics difference isn't that noticable!!

Other Thoughts: Like most sequels, they tried to be "innovative" to create a "new" experience. But in doing so the foundations that made the original so great have been tampered with or destroyed completely. :(

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Game

Pros: This is a great game despite the mediocre reviews. It doesn't deserve the really bad reviews on this site. I have played to completion on nightmare using all classes. Love trying out different builds. The fast pace action is great when you get better at it, but the pause is there if you need it. Truly, the game deserves 4 eggs but I'm giving 5 just to make up for the really bad reviews.

Cons: Bioware could have made the storyline better in terms of continuity between Acts. For an RPG, you don't really get immersed into the 'role play' of your character as much. Graphics is good but could be better.

Other Thoughts: Still a great game.
