5 out of 5 eggsFun game

Pros: Diablo meets Pokemon with a side dish of Spore creature editing. If you are a fan of dungeon crawlin, lootz collecting, and boss face smashing, then pick up this game.

Cons: PVP

4 out of 5 eggsOK game

Pros: Fun to pass time, easy to play, low system requirements.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Bought this game when it was a deal of the day for 6 dollars, honestly wouldn't spend more for it then that. Is a good game to pass time when there is nothing else to do.

3 out of 5 eggsA fun, underdeveloped game

Pros: Fun overall gameplay
Ease off play
Customization of characters

Cons: Underdeveloped
Bad PvP (With the potential to be good, if they had put in the time)
Limited gameplay
Little to no replay ability

Other Thoughts: For the price (About $20) it is a fun little game. If EA had put some more time into the game to further explore the possibility of good PvP and make it a more polished and expansive game, then it would be perfect.
For the price, a truly fun game

4 out of 5 eggsGreat group experience

Pros: Gear system: Numerous hero customization options, both aesthetic and stat-based.

Diversity: 25 unique, and 100 derivitive, heroes to choose from. Wide array of abilities and spell effects.

Polish: Good graphics for a fixed-camera action rpg. Great sound.

Matchmaking: Players can use the game's matchmaking system to be grouped quickly with other players who want to play the same level, so building a group is easy.

Developer interest: Already, so close to launch, the development team at Maxis is actively engaged with the player community and is working to address bugs and improve the game.

Stat scaling: When grouping with friends of lower level, the player's stats are scaled down to approximate the power of the lower level player(s) in the group. This makes the game more challenging/rewarding for all involved and offers tangible benefits such as higher level gear drops for the higher level player as well as a boost to experience point gains. No hand-holding here!

Cons: Gear system: Item equipping can be tedious, as you are forced to apply pieces of gear manually to your hero's body.

Bugs: Game is young and so still has some bugs.

Matchmaking: You cannot stipulate the size of the party you wish to build, so you may end up loading out with only 2 or 3 players instead of the maximum group size, 4.

Other Thoughts: This game is best enjoyed with a group of friends, as group gameplay dynamics are far more interesting and exciting than solo play. Solo play, however, is still quite reasonable and rewarding.

Player-vs-player (PvP) content is available, but limited to 1v1 or 2v2 arena combat scenarios with no tangible rewards. According to developers, however, more scenarios and real rewards are in the works. The PvP gameplay is quite fun, int his player's opinion.

The most unique aspect of Darkspore is it squad format. Each player selects a group of 3 heroes which will comprise their squad, and during gameplay the player can immediately switch between these 3 heroes to select the most effective hero for different combat situations.
